Mangrove plants are salt tolerant trees or shrub that found in coastal saline or brackish water. Mangrove swamps create a natural ecosystem that provides shelter and food to a wide range of birds, reptiles, mammals, and aquatic animals. They are used to make food, and medicine. They also help diminish coastal erosion from storms, filter pollutants and reduce sea water contamination and function as carbon sink while releasing oxygen.
