When you come on my photo tour, you’re my guest, and I want you to have the best possible experience – of the country, of the temples, and of capturing the of one of the most enigmatic historical sites on the planet.

We will visit some of my favorite temples and villages, at times of day when we can find the solitude necessary to creating good photographs.

I won’t lie to you: Angkor has changed since the days when you could sit by yourself at Angkor Wat for hours and watch the sunset. So that means being flexible, and if one spot isn’t working for us photographically, I’ll change the itinerary on the spot and find a place that does.

When you’re traveling, it’s hard to resist the temptation to cram everything in without a break. We do have a pretty intensive schedule on my expeditions, but I’ve made sure that you’ll have time to edit your photos and share them during our photo review evenings.

You will also have plenty of free time to re-visit your favorite temples/villages or simply relax and enjoy the offerings of the bustling town of Siem Reap.

An exhibition of fine art images of Asia by international award-winning photographer, John McDermott at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Hong Kong.

Over the last twenty years, John McDermott has crossed the continent of Asia, particularly Southeast Asia, painstakingly capturing a vision of centuries-old sacred sites and the living cultures that surrounds them.
