The Phnom Bakheng Temple is revered by both Hindurism and Buddhism. It was designed to look like a mountaintop shrine to honour Shiva. Late in his reign, King Yasovarman oversaw the construction of the temple.

It is one of the most famous buildings in the world because of its architectural value. King Yasovarman I of the Khmer established his new capital at Yasodharapura, which featured the state temple Phnom Bakheng as the first monument temple for himself.

Sunset is the best moment for everyone spend their time after a full day at work and a vistas of neighbouring Angkor Wat are a big draw for visitors to this temple.

Cambodia's new airport in Siem Reap was officially assigned the name "Siem Reap Angkor International Airport." An additional 40 kilometres to the northeast of the Angkor Archaeological Park where this airport is. Despite the outbreak of epidemic and growing economy, this airport is expected to welcome between 7 to 10 million tourists/year, reviving Cambodia's tourism industry.

On October 16, 2023, Siem Reap Angkor International Airport is going to officially open to visitors from all over the world. This was on our schedule for an inspection trip on a day off, and we can't wait to finally see it.
