General Informations

Hello my name is Savet, I had been working as a volunteer English teacher to provide free English education to children in an NGO from 2010 to 2014,But now I have started my own business to provide local tours to tourists from all around the world. My tour that I organized is unique because I mixed many different activities in one day so that you will have a great chance to experience local sights and tourism attractions. One more important thing: My tour is connected with local communities so they will get benefits from our tour directly. Your money will be contributed to local stakeholders.

Stop: 1
Experience Local Village and Beautiful Countryside By Bike ( 8:30am-11:00am)
After Picking you up from your hotel we will bring you to our village called "Odambang '' then we collect the bicycles and start the tour. During a village tour, visitors can learn about the daily lives of the villagers, their customs, and how they make a living. The tour can include a variety of activities such as meeting the locals, exploring the natural surroundings. This is the unique tour if you want to experience the local culture, lifestyle, and traditions. By being born and living here for my whole life I am able to understand and explain to you anything you want to know about.

Overall, a village tour can be a great way to connect with rural communities, learn about different cultures, and experience a slower pace of life. It can also provide a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city and offer a chance to reconnect with nature.
Note: In this activity if you are not able to ride the bike you can use Tuk Tuk instead.

Stop: 2
See different traditional Handicrafts( 11:00am-1:00 Pm )
Making Rice Paper: Rice paper is a thin, translucent, edible paper made from rice flour and water. To make spring rolls, rice paper is soaked in warm water for a few seconds until it becomes pliable, then filled with a variety of ingredients such as cooked shrimp or pork, fresh vegetables, herbs, and vermicelli noodles.

We will visit a family rice paper business and witness how the skills that have passed down through the generations are used to make this delicate product. You can have a great chance to practice making it with them if you wish.

Making Rice Wine : Rice wine is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice. It is a traditional drink for local people in Cambodia.
We will visit a home-made distillery. It is made using traditional methods from rice and yeast, being fermented for a few days in clay jars before being distilled.

Making Dried Bananas: Watch the locals slice the bananas patiently into thin pieces and dry them under the sun. These delicious snacks are a result of a family business where everyone helps in the process before selling the products to locals.

Making Fish Paste : The fish paste market is where we see how Cambodians make this vital ingredient. It has to be stored in large pots and preserved for many months.
Fish paste is a food product made from fish that has been finely minced, mixed with salt and other seasonings, and either fermented.
Having Local Dinner in the Village (6:00pm-8:00pm)
Having a local homemade dinner in a village is a wonderful experience. It allows you to experience the local cuisine and culture in a more authentic and intimate way.We are a local family host that will prepare local homemade food that will offer you the unique and memorable experience. For food we can discuss which are your preferences so that we can prepare a meal that suits your needs.
Be open-minded: Be open to trying new foods and experiencing local customs. You may be surprised by how much you enjoy the local cuisine and culture.
Respect local customs: Be respectful of the local customs and traditions. For example, there is a certain way to eat or serve the food, follow the local customs. So let’s find out how the local people eat so that you will have a great experience on this tour.

Option: 4
Half Day Afternoon( 2:00pm-6:30pm)
Tuk Tuk Tour

Stop:1
Bambootrain (3:00pm-4:00pm)
This tour is designed for anyone who is interested in the most popular tourism attractions in Battambang.
The Bamboo Train used to be a very useful transportation for local people. They used it to transport goods, animals, rice and people after the war ended but now it’s become a famous and fun vehicle for tourists. You will spend around an hour to go and come back from Odambang village to Osrolau village. (additional $5 per person)
Stop:2
Visit Phnom Sampov mountain-Killing Cave and Bat Cave(4:30pm-6:00pm)
By saving time and energy we will go up by renting a motorbike(You sit at the back) or car up the mountain but we can walk up if you prefer. On the half way of the mountain we will see a beautiful pagoda with different paintings on the wall then after that we will go to see the Killing Cave where the Khmer Rouge killed many people. So I will explain to you how this regime happened and why they killed so many people. After that we will continue to the top where you will see the beautiful panoramic landscape of the Battambang region and its extensive green rice paddies.
Lastly,it will be time to watch the bats take flight. It is incredible to watch the long and endless line of bats as they fly out from the cave. Every evening, millions of bats fly to Tonle Sap Lake to feed on mosquitoes and insects, before returning in the morning. They eat the insects that harm the farmer's crops so they are useful for farmers to save their crops.
After watching the bats we will bring you back to your hotel around 6:30 pm.
