Photo of aurora borealis from May 10, 2024 taken from the deck at Coral Beach Villa. This shot was caught by accident as we were trying to take a photo of the moon, which looked very red. The moon is visible in the centre, low, and reflecting on the water. It wasn’t until the next morning that we realized the stunning red sky, only visible by camera, was how the aurora appears here. Such a rare phenomenon this far south. Low light pollution at Coral Beach Villa, takes star gazing to the next level. 💫 🪐 🌟

November is proving to be an outstanding chanterelle season in Cayman Brac. Coined the Cayman chanterelle, (Cantharellus coccolobae) thrives under sea grape trees and can be found in October and November in the jungle trails around Coral Beach Villa. As with all foraged mushrooms, get your find verified by an expert prior to consuming! Bon appetit!
