Global Issue Affects Cayman Islands Government Systems

Due to a global issue that has affected our CrowdStrike antivirus software, many Cayman Islands Government systems have been impacted. The Computer Services Department is working with CrowdStrike on a necessary fix and is urgently striving to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

During this time, many public-facing services will be impacted. We ask for your patience and understanding.
We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

The Passport and Corporate Services Office wishes to advise the public that its offices will close for business early on Friday, 8 March at 11:30am to facilitate staff training.

The Office will resume business as usual on Monday, 11 March at 9:00am.

The office opens from 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with effect from today 18th July through 7th September 2023.

From RCIPS: The Police Service Commission (PSC) announces the promotion and appointment of Superintendent Brad Ebanks to the rank of Chief Superintendent, for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS). “I am pleased to see the success of this recruitment drive for this critical role in the RCIPS. I am particularly pleased that we were able to promote a highly capable Caymanian from within the ranks of the RCIPS. I offer sincere congratulations to Chief Superintendent Ebanks on his well-deserved promotion, says Hon Acting Governor, Franz Manderson, who is Acting Chairman of the PSC.

After a busy but wonderful first few days in Cayman, today I’ve spent my first day in the Government Administration Building.

I would like to thank the Hon. Premier, Deputy Governor and all those involved in the arrangements for my arrival on Friday, the Swearing In Ceremony at Parliament and the welcome reception at the historic Pedro St James on Saturday evening. Thank you to all for making me feel so welcome. I have spent the weekend exploring Grand Cayman with my daughter Phoebe.

This week I will be focussed on introductory meetings, learning as much as I can so I can start to develop a real understanding of Cayman’s history, culture and heritage. I will spend Saturday on the Sister Islands and I am very much looking forward to meeting the community there. I have a busy 10 days ahead of me until I depart for London to attend the Coronation of His Majesty The King and the Joint Ministerial Council alongside the Hon. Premier.

Storms are unpredictable and can be very dangerous. 🌧️ Nobody knows how much damage a storm will cause until it is over.
Be prepared. Shelter in a well-constructed building, on high ground or with a high enough foundation to avoid flooding.
