Whenever we go to a new city, we always make sure to visit a botanical garden. And this time, we went to @atlbotanical . It's a 30-acre botanical garden located in midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The Conservatory is the one place I am thrilled to see. I want to see how they setup their aroid collections along with ferns, trees and orchids that came from different parts of the world. But it was their orchidarium that blew me away. Their collection of rare and unusual orchid is extensive. They put as many unusual kind in a small place and I couldn't contain my happiness. I don't even know where to look at. As every nooks and cranny of the orchidarium was exploding with alien looking flowers and foliage. My heart was full. I was overjoyed. I could stay there forever. But our time there was limited so, we had to go and explore the other parts. My family was excited to see the Earth Goddess in the Cascade Garden but unfortunately, it wasn't planted yet. The Alice in Wonderland exhibit was not ready as well, but it still look Majestic as the sculptures were larger-than life. All in all, we enjoyed our visit. Definitely, we will recommend it for all of you to visit as well. Until to the next botanical garden visit!

ICU Method of rooting your plant cuttings
The ICU Method is an effective way of rooting your cuttings by using a clear plastic bag, coco coir or sphagnum moss and your choice of cuttings. All you have to do is put your moistened substrate in the bag then, stick your cuttings in the substrate and seal the bag. Once the bag is sealed, put it somewhere that it doesn't get direct sun. Then, you wait for 2-3 weeks or until you see new root growth. The sealed bag will keep the moisture inside so, the substrate and the plant will be continuously moist and it will help your cuttings to produce new roots.

Monstera Pinnatipartita
Mature pinnatipartita are tall. With their climbing habit, monsteras like this need a moss pole or trellis support to stop them from drooping and promote healthy growth. They'll also need the right balance of light to produce the best fenestration and growth rates. Generally grown indoors, they can thrive outdoors if you can offer them the warm, humid weather conditions they need.

Garden Tour
Yesterday, we've visited our very good friend Esly and we get to explore her ever growing collection. She has trees in her backyard that give shade to her aroids. She also made a shade house for her more precious collection.

Costus
Red button ginger makes a bold addition to the garden thanks to its glossy green, oval-shaped foliage and bright ruby red spiky cones, which produce vibrant yellow-orange flowers. Its red cone attracts hummingbirds. Red button ginger is best planted in early spring (or year-round in tropical environments). The plant will grow at a moderate rate, blooming in its second or third growing season and eventually reaching a mature height of three to four feet.
A beloved spiral ginger among gardeners, red button ginger is easy to care for and offers year-round visual interest. It grows best in hot temperatures and tropical conditions.
Space each rhizome at least 18 to 24 inches apart when planting—doing so reduces the need to divide plants in the future.

Monocarpic Plants
Monocarpic Plants are the plants that flower once in their whole life time and after flowering, they produce fruits and die. All annual (eg- Wheat, Rice) and biennial plants (eg-Carrot, Radish) are monocarpic. A few perennial plants(Bambusa tulda , Agave, Banana, etc) are also monocarpic.

Ficus elastica "Shivereana"
Ficus shivereana (Ficus elastica 'Shivereana') is a hybrid rubber plant known for its colorful, variegated foliage. This rare houseplant is native to the jungles of Southeast Asia. Its neon green or yellow leaves are splashed with speckles of darker green, and new growth is often pink as it emerges. Ficus shivereana isn't as adaptable and hardy as Ficus elastica, but it can grow well indoors in cooler climates with the proper care and conditions. Note that ficus shivereana is toxic to pets.

Philodendron Gloriosum
One variety that is increasingly sought after is the Philodendron gloriosum. This vulnerable Colombian native isn't a climbing epiphyte like many species in the genus. Instead, the heartleaf-shaped, velvety foliage with eye-catching white veins has a creeping, ground-crawling habit.
Part of the appeal of this plant is its forgiving, low-maintenance nature. It's the perfect tropical houseplant for even the most brown-thumbed plant lover.
Just keep the plant out of reach of inquisitive four-legged friends. The Philodendron gloriosum is toxic to people and pets.
