World Ocean Day Reefs Go Live: 25 Years of Coral Reef Research with CCMI - Central Caribbean Marine Institute
CCMI has been conducting innovative research and education in the Cayman Islands for 25 years, and this Reefs Go Live broadcast will communicate to viewers how human actions have compounding impacts, both positive and negative. We’ll share everyday examples and insights from our scientific research and conservation work over the last 25 years in the Cayman Islands.
The Reefs Go Live programme directly links CCMI's team of scientists and educators with the audience in Grand Cayman, who see the live footage of coral reefs and listen to the educators - from underwater - in real time. Audience members will be able to send questions to the team in Little Cayman, with the underwater host providing answers during the dive.
Register to be able to ask our underwater host questions today at https://donate.reefresearch.org/WOD_2023

The International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame’s milestone 20th Anniversary Induction, set to take place in the Cayman Islands on September 25, 2020, has been officially postponed to 2021. Cayman’s borders will remain closed until October 1, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; therefore, the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame (ISDHF) Board of Directors and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) have made the decision to delay the 20th Induction Ceremony to ensure a proper in-person celebration can be held on-island for the Class of 2020 inductees, in lieu of a virtual event. The induction ceremony has been rescheduled for 2021 in Grand Cayman.
