KATU VILLAGES
Mr Hook and Mr Somphone's village (Ban Kok Phoung Tai) is well-known and visited by numerous travellers... though that village has no community religious building, unlike many other less-known Katu villages, such as BAN KADONE - coordinates and map in comment.

Thanks to Cedric* 's indications, I enjoyed many nice bridges in a less-knowns area of Pakse on the other side of the town.
The trip could start from the old town of Muangkao (15.105677297306375, 105.77512496236515), more or less all along the Mekong up to Ban Simoungkoun (15.284494581723198, 105.64475209262238) - approx. 30km long trip (one way only).
Most of the roads are paved or cemented.
Many nice tiny streets, traditional houses, colorful temples, cute gardens, small forests and Mekong views...

Pakse Info website seems to be useful to travellers.

According to an archaeologist, it is what we call a “grotto" (i.e. "cave”), linked to very ancient Buddhism. Other objects nearby (by the river and in the river!) date the site to between 1,000 and 1,500 years ago
