A short drive from Beirut, the Lebanese ski resorts are unrivaled in the Middle East and offer safety and security standards equivalent to those found at European ski resorts. Not only that, many of the resorts also offer hedonistic night life that equals that of Beirut itself. Mzaar Kfardebian’s (Formerly Faraya Mzaar)
80km of ski tracks spread over 42 slopes just over an hour from Beirut, making this resort an ideal getaway. Two days minimum are required to cover most of this resort. With slopes for both beginners and high-level skiers it is simply ideal for most skiers. When night falls, the resort comes alive with party goers enjoying the ultimate into in trendy nightspots, restaurants and stores. The Cedars
is a picturesque location just past the small town of Bcharre and is one of Lebanon’s older ski resorts. Its highest peak at 2095m makes it the perfect destination for skiing and snowboarding both for families or individuals. t is also an excellent place to relax in some of its more traditional venues. Further from Beirut than Mazaar it may be, but it is still well worth the drive. Laklouk Sky Resort
Laqlouq is a winter and summer resort, situated on a plateau at an altitude between 1750m and 2000m, and encircled by jagged ridges and terraces bearing thousands of trees. In addition to alpine skiing, it is also one of the best resorts suited for cross country skiing. Mostly visited by families, Laqlouq had its first ski lift installed in 1958, followed by major enhancements to the slopes and the creation of a qualified ski school. Activities begin from January.
