أطلقت بلدية زحلة باصات النقل المشترك الصديقة للبيئة ضمن برنامج "التنمية المحلية على إمتداد حوض نهر الليطاني" بتمويل من الاتحاد الأوروبي. المشروع المستدام يشكل نموذجاً للتجربة في مختلف الأراضي اللبنانية. المرحلة الحالية تركز على تأمين تجربة ناجحة، لتوفير خبرة للنقل البلدي المشترك للبلديات الأخرى.

تشمل المرحلة التجريبية ستة أشهر مقسمة إلى مرحلتين:

الثلاثة أشهر الأولى لتحديد المواعيد الثابتة وسد احتياجات الرحلات على الخطوط الثلاثة.
الثلاثة أشهر الثانية لإعداد دفتر شروط تمهيداً لتلزيم الخدمة وفقا لقانون الشراء العام.
الخطوط الثلاثة:

من المحطة الرئيسية إلى مراكز الإدارة العامة.
من السوق التجاري إلى منطقة المقاهي السياحية.
من الحمرا بلازا إلى مستديرة كسارة، يخدم الطلاب وقاصدي الدوائر الرسمية.
الباصات تعمل 16 ساعة يومياً دون توقف. تذاكر التنقل ثلاثة أنواع:

مرة واحدة بـ80 ألف ليرة.
استخدام متعدد خلال اليوم بـ150 ألف ليرة.
اشتراك أسبوعي بـ800 ألف ليرة.
الانتقال شبه مجاني لكبار السن والأطفال تحت عشر سنوات، وذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة سيكون لهم اشتراكات مخفضة، وكذلك طلاب الجامعات. في كل باص شرطي بلدي لضمان السلامة وحسن التسيير.
