Once upon a time, there were three brothers named Pat Fin (Thin Legs), Gros Bouden (Pot Belly), and Gros Jawl (Large Mouth). One day, Gros Bouden, who was known for his greed, stole some mangoes and ate so many that his belly burst. Pat Fin was in a rush to inform their mother of what had happened, but as he was running, he accidentally stepped on an ant nest and his feet broke. Gros Jawl found the situation hilarious and laughed so hard that his mouth split open behind his ear.

Bamboo Bursting is a tradition that is popular in St. Lucia. It involves young boys crafting cannons out of large bamboo canes and filling them with kerosene. Once the end of the cane is lit, someone blows on the flame to create a loud bursting sound.

The national dress of Saint Lucia comprises the following components:

The Dwiyet A full-length outer dress with a trail and narrow sleeves that extend to the wrists.

A long petticoat made of cotton or satin and decorated with rows of lace and ribbon.

A Foulard - A scarf worn around the neck and shoulders with a triangular apex at the centre of the back and attached to the Dwiyet at the front with a brooch. This scarf is made of satin and is usually of a colour that contrasts with that of the dress.

The Tete Casé - A folded head piece which is decorated to suit the taste of the wearer.

In addition, the ladies who wear the Wob Dwiyet adorn themselves with a substantial amount of jewellery including long necklaces and large earrings.

Folktales are stories in the oral tradition, passed down through generations of people.

Today's folktale is about Ti Jean and his brothers.
St. Lucia’s Nobel Laureate, Derek Walcott’s renowned play ‘Ti Jean and His Brothers’ has been a local favorite since its inception.

The story is about three brothers who enters into a dangerous game of chance with the Devil. This play with music is Walcott's celebration of life in the Caribbean, and it's a funny, dark, and moving fable.

This tour offers a range of experiences that will indulge all of your senses. At the chocolate factory, you can participate in chocolate making by mixing, tempering, and customizing your own chocolate bar. At Plas Kasav, you can observe the process of making cassava bread and even try some. Additionally, you can visit the rum distillery where you will be shown the process of rum making and fermentation. After the tour, you can sample as many as 20 bottles of rum in the tasting room.

You will be able to purchase chocolates, cassava and rum at the different locations.
