On this day December 13, 2014, we celebrate National Day in Saint Lucia. An interesting fact is that our island was named after our patron saint, Saint Lucy of Syracuse, the saint of light. Our annual usually held the day before, is a commemorative ceremony in honor of Saint Lucy.
