Reopen For Sri Lanka Tourism
After multiple delays, Sri Lanka is now planning on reopening its borders for tourism starting in the last week of 2020.
Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa gave the go-ahead for the international airport to reopen on December 26, 2020
Requirements For Tourists Entering Sri Lanka
When Sri Lanka does reopen all travelers will need to abide by the following entry requirements in order to enter the country:
1.Evidence of a negative PCR Covid 19 test 72 hours before arrival
2.Be tested again upon arrival
3.A third test will be given on day 7
4.All travelers must commit to a minimum of 14 days in the country
5.All travelers must apply for an online visa
Visitors from all countries and of all nationalities are welcome to visit Sri Lanka, unlike some other countries who have only announced reopening’s to close neighbors. Sri Lanka is hoping to lure citizens from Europe and the UK as vaccinations get underway.

Is there a mandatory quarantine period on arrival in Sri Lanka?
No. If travelers follow all testing entry requirement, they will not have a quarantine period upon arrival.
However, if they are tested upon arrival and they test positive, quarantine in a designated hotel or hospitalization will take place depending on the details of the case.
