A young female leopard gets her warning from buffalos.

We saw a herd of water buffalos enjoying their mid day dip in the water hole inside Yala National park, Sri Lanka on early September 2020. Suddenly one of the Mahaseelawa cub appeared from the bushes and she looked very thirsty. She was well aware of the presence of buffalos and made her move cautiously towards the water hole.

The buffalos started to threaten her since there was a calf in the herd. She quickly climbed the nearby tree and patiently waited till the buffalos move. But they kept warning her. Then she decided to show her jumping skill and she disappeared into the thick bushes.

We managed to track her in a different location on the same day 🐆🐆🐆
