Visit Sri Lanka
If you are going to Horton, go this way
Maheliya plains or Horton plains is one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka. There is a different world there that cannot be seen anywhere else in Sri Lanka. (There is a similar environment in Matale, but it is not as beautiful as this) It takes about 5 hours to walk to see the main places in Horton. But there are people who say that they walked so far to see this. It's everyone's fun.
Horton Plains National Park

Let me tell you a few things first
If you are someone who leaves something on a topi sheet where it went wrong, it is okay for you to bathe here.
In any case, polythene and plastic water bottles are not allowed to be taken inside.
Do not bring home anything except photos and memorabilia.
Carry enough water. Plastic bottles are not allowed. (There are taps in several places)
When you go inside, there is no phone signal. Therefore, if someone misses a meeting, call and keep a place to come.
If you want to use Google map, download the required part offline and keep it.
If you plan to go to Horton's place, plan to get there by 10 am (12 at the most). Also, if you choose a day with fairly clear weather, you will be able to see the beauty of the bottom of the world.
On the way, you can see bulls with big horns.
There is a long way to walk. A person with heart disease should be careful. Because the day we went, someone was having difficulty walking and complaining of chest pain. There is no way to bring a vehicle inside. You have to come on foot.
Also, there are times when flowers are frosted here. Even then, there is a strange beauty here.
If you come to Horton, you can choose one of these three
World's End/Little World's End/Baker's Falls/ Chimney Pond
Kirigalpotta Hill
Pierola Hill
Today I am going to write a description about the first one. There is a separate road to the Kirigalpotta hill from around the Horton Tanana entrance. If you go together, you have to walk 7 km.
Without going on that road, you can go to the other road to see the place including the end of the world. After a short distance, you will find a Y junction. It's full circle from there. Once you start from one path, you can go full circle and come back from the other path.
We went left through the road on the left hand side. Some people go in one direction and see the end of the world and come back the same way. Go full circle without doing that. The complete circuit is 7Km.
From this side, the first thing you will see is the end of the world. You can see a wonderful view from there. It is mentioned there that you can see the sea on a clear day.
Many people like to take pictures here. (So am I) But you have to be careful, needless to say.
If you go beyond that, you will find the end of the world. Pallehain Ratnapura District/ Hirikati Oya/ Nonpareil Estate can be taken care of.
Going beyond there, you will find Baker's falls. It is named after the Englishman Samuel Baker. He came across this waterfall while he was hunting elephants and bulls here. It is mentioned in the book THE RIFLE AND THE HOUND IN CEYLON written by him in 1853. It is created by Belihul Oya.
But now there are no elephants here. But the most beautiful leopards in Sri Lanka are here. There are leopards with well-grown fur to withstand the cold. If you stay here at the camping site, you can sometimes see it in the morning. It's such a rare opportunity.
Beyond that, Chimini Pool is found. This is a strangely beautiful place.
Maharatmals, which are rare to Sri Lanka, can be seen all over the Horton plains. In addition, there are Bovitia and many other herbaceous plants. But you must have seen some trees with beautiful yellow flowers now spread everywhere. Due to this invasive plant, many of the native plants in Sri Lanka have become a threat.
