End of the hanthana mountain range is the “Katusukonda”. It is known as Katusukonda because that area of the mountain range looks like a back of a lizard. During the hikes to each peak, you’ll have to cross thick forest patches and Mana bushes.It is an eye-catching scenic view on top of Hanthana range. Sitting on top of Hanthana, on one side right within your sight, you can see Peacock hills, Gampola town, Kabaragala- the highest peak of Dolosbage mountain, Kadugannawa, Alagalla, Mahaweli River, Bathalegala, and Piduruthalagala Mountain. On the other side Knuckles range, Hunnasgiriya, Wilshire.Dont forget to carry enough water if you hike up here..❤️❤️

Samanala Kanda,which is also known as Adam's-Peak is a cone shaped mountain with the height of 2,243 meters(7,359 feets)
is located in Central Sri-Lanka.
According to Buddhist tradition,it is considered as the adam's peak or the footprint of Lord Buddha. And some believes that according to Islamic and Christianity tradition it is the footprint of Adam or St. Thomas.

This mountain is located in the central hill between the Ratnapura district of the Sabaragamuwa Province and the Nuwara Eliya district of the Central Province. It is 40 km Northeast of Ratnapura town and 32 km Southwest of Hatton. The surrounding area is a forested mountain, and there is no comparable mountain nearby. The region of the mountain is a wildlife reserve and is home to many species ranging from elephants to leopards.

The Siripa pilgrimage takes place during the Poya Day of December and the Poya Day of May. During this time a large number of foreigners also join in the pilgrimage.

Surrounded by a beautiful mountain range, the beauty of Mount samanala is breathtaking and we can see the sun rise from the top of the mountain. When the sun rises, the Samanala Peak is surrounded by fog. Another spectacular sight you can see in the Samanala mountain is that tbis mountain is surrounded by the mountain Saptakanya and when the sun rises the shadow of Mount Samanala appears in the mountain range which is nearby. This image, which appears for a while, is not often seen in foggy days.
