The iconic Menik Ganga is one of the famous rivers in Sri Lanka. It means Gem River. It crosses our property and flows through the sacred city of Kataragama. Devotees come to this river to cleanse their souls before going to the temples. 🙏

Immerse yourself in nature, help the community to CLEAN THE RIVER AND SAVE THE NATURE 💫💫

The owner Muna has handcrafted his ecolodge paradise with his amazing team over the last 20 years. We want to share it with a bunch of curious and hard working volunteers with a passion for the environment.

🙏 Come and join the team and help clean up Gem river - which runs through the property, in exchange for bed and board for just $10 per day.

🦚 Kataragama is a sacred town in the south east of Sri Lanka and is visited by pilgrims from all over the country. The ‘Gem’ river runs right through the beautiful national park and is the lifeline for so many local people. Recently the river and the river bank has become very polluted with plastic and other materials due to high flood levels. The community, led by Muna, is now seeking outside help to restore the river to how it should be 🌿🌿🌿🌿

👉👉👉WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:

💫 Learn about local culture and traditions during this Holy Shivarathi Week, try tasty local vegetarian food and just relax and hang out in one the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka.
