The lovely Borgians - past pupils of St. Bridget's Convent had yet another fun filled get together recently. 😍🥰

The Big Red joyous bedecked doubledecker took the beautiful ladies stunningly clad in the 'Borgian' colour of red, right across the city. The bus was filled with music connected by bluetooth and they brought along their own amazing compere.

The evening thereafter unfolded into a wonderful event with music, dance and a scrumptious dinner, celebrating generations of friendship and sisterhood. 💃🎶🎵🎹

Today, the World Environment Day is a special occasion to come together to appreciate the blessings of mother nature. It is a day to join hands and reflect upon our responsibility to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.

Nilwala River: Pasgoda, Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akuressa, Athuraliya, Malimbada, Kamburupitiya, Thihagoda, Matara, Devinuwara
Kelani River: Dehiowita, Ruwanwella, Seethawaka, Dompe, Homagama, Kaduwela, Biyagama, Kolonnawa, Colombo and Wattala

🛑The Department of Irrigation has escalated the flood warning to a Major Flood level for the Pitabeddara Divisional Secretariat area in the Kalutara District.

🛑The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for very heavy rainfall above 150mm for the Subaragumuwa Province and the Galle and Matara Districts.

🛑The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued a Red Alert (Evacuation) for the following Divisional Secretariat areas: Padukka, Mathugama, Bulathsinhala, Palindanuwara, Ingiriya, Ratnapura, Kuruvita, Ayagama, Elapatha, Kiriella, Eheliyagoda, Nivithigala, and Kalawana.

All those travelling and living in areas effected by the prevalent inclement weather conditions please take note of below for your safety and for the safety of others.

Midigama is an amazing sight to see ! Fondly known as Weligama’s baby brother, it is located only 4 kms away from Weligama and within a 10 – minute drive. The best time to visit this Southwest coast of Sri Lanka is from the end of October to early April when the majority of days are sunny and conditions for surfing are ideal. 🌊🏖🏄‍♂️

Whilst in Medigama you can also visit a few interesting places including the Agrabodhi Vihara in Weligama, a temple dating back to the time of King Devanampiyatissa (250-210 BC). 🙏

The crowds enjoyed most memorable and safe sightseeing experiences despite the heavy rains that came down intermittently.

The closed 'Pinky' double decker took the happy crowd around the city enabling them to witness Colombo in all its splendor this Vesak season. Walking experiences through colorful Vesak zones at Bauddhaloka Mawatha and Gangaramaya amidst numerous 'dansals', pandols and live performances, viewing creative and breathtaking Vesak decorations were indeed an unforgettable experience 💝
