මාරයි

ෆ්ලෙමින් නම් දුප්පත් ස්කොට්ලන්ත ගොවියෙක් තම ගොවිපලේ වැඩ කරමින් සිටියදී, හදිස්සියේ ඇසුණු කෑ ගැසීමක් නිසාවෙන් ඒ දෙසට දිව යයි...

ඔහු දකින්නේ තම දරුවාගේම වයසේ කුඩා දරුවෙක්, අසල වූ මඩ වගුරෙහි ගිලී යමින් සිටින බිහිසුණු දර්ශනයි.
ඔහු තම දිවි දෙවනි කොට දරුවා බේරා ගැනීමට ඉදිරිපත් වෙයි...

ඉන්පසු දවසේ, විසිතුරු කරත්තයක් ස්කොට්ලන්ත ජාතිකයාගේ නිවස වෙතට ඇදී යයි, අලංකාර ඇඳුමින් සැරසුණු වංශාධිපතියෙක් ඉන් පිටතට පැමිණ, ගොවියා වෙත තමන් පිරිමි ළමයාගේ පියා ලෙස හඳුන්වා දෙයි...

“ඔබ මගේ පුතාගේ ජීවිතය බේරුවා, ඒ වෙනුවෙන් මට ඔබට මුදල් ලබා දිය යුතුයි”
වංශාධිපතියා පැවසීය...

" නැහැ..., මා කළ උපකාරය සඳහා මුදල් භාරගත නොහැකිය, එය ඕනෑම මනුෂ්‍යයෙක් ඒ මොහොතේ කරන දෙයක්...”

ස්කොට්ලන්ත ගොවියා පිළිතුරු දෙමින් පැවසීය..

ඒ මොහොතේ ගොවියාගේ පුතා නිවසේ දොර ළඟට පැමිණියේය.

“ඒ ඔබේ පුතාද..?”
වංශාධිපතියා ඇසීය...

“ඔව්...”
ගොවියා පිළිතුරු දුන්නේය.

“ ඔබ මගේ මුදල් ත්‍යාග භාර නොගන්නේ නම්, මම කැමතියි මගේ පුත්‍රයාගේ දිවි ගලවා ඔබ කල උපකාරයට, ඔබගේ පුත්‍රයාව ලන්ඩන් නගරයට රැගෙන ගොස් උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය ලබාදෙන්න...”
දුප්පත් ගොවියා එයට එකඟ විය...

කාලයාගේ ඇවෑමෙන් ගොවියාගේ පුත්‍රයා ලන්ඩනයේ ශාන්ත මරියා රෝහල් වෛද්‍ය විද්‍යාලයෙන් උපාධිය ලබා ගනී...

ඉන් නොනවතින ඔහු ලෝක ඉතිහාසයේ සුවිශිෂ්ට සොයාගැනීමක් වූ 'පෙනිසිලින්' නම් පළමු ප්‍රතිජීවකය නිපදවමින්,
"ශ්‍රීමත් ඇලෙක්සැන්ඩර් ෆ්ලෙමින්" ලෙස ලොව පුරා ප්‍රසිද්ධියට පත්වෙයි...

ඉන් වසර ගණනකට පසු වංශාධිපතියාගේ පුත්‍රයාට නියුමෝනියාව වැළඳෙයි...

ඔහු මරණයෙන් බේරාගන්නා ඖෂධය අන් කවරෙකුත් නොව 'පෙනිසිලින් ය...'

වංශාධිපතියාගේ නම රැන්ඩොල්ෆ් චර්චිල් ය.
ඔහු නොදත් බොහෝ දෙනෙක් ඔහුගේ පුතාගේ නම දනී.
ඒ මහා බ්‍රිතාන්‍යයයේ කීර්තිමත්ම අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයා වූ,
"ශ්‍රීමත් වින්ස්ටන් චර්චිල් ය."

ඒ අහිංසක දුප්පත් ගොවියා තම දිවි දෙවැනි කොට කල උපකාරය නොවන්නට, පසු කලෙක දෙවනි ලෝක මහා සංග්‍රාමයේදී බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ප්‍රමුඛ හමුදා ජයග්‍රහණය කරා මෙහෙය වූ වින්ස්ටන් චර්චිල් බිහිසුණු වගුරේ ගිලී යන්නට තිබුණි....
එසේ වූවා නම් ලෝක ඉතිහාසය වෙනස්ම අයුරකින් ලියවෙන්නට ඉඩ තිබුණි....
එසේම සාමිවරයාගේ ප්‍රතිඋපකාරය නොවන්නට, ඇලෙක්සැන්ඩර් ෆ්ලෙමින් තම දුප්පත් පියාගේ පිය උරුමයෙන් ලද ගොවිතැන රැකියාව කොට ගොවියෙක් ලෙසම මිය යන්නට ඉඩ තිබුණි...
එය එසේ වූවා නම් අදටත් මරණාසන්න කෝටි ප්‍රකෝටි ගණනක් ජීවිත රැකගන්නා ප්‍රතිජීවකයක් බිහි නොවන්නට ඉඩ තිබුණි...

පළමු වර මරණයෙන් ගැලවුණු වින්ස්ටන් චර්චිල් දෙවන වර මරණය හමුවේ පරාජය වන්නටත් ඉඩ තිබුණි...

එක්තරා මිනිසෙකුගේ මනුෂ්‍යත්වය, ලෝකයක ඉරණම වෙනස් කරන්නට හේතු විය.
එනිසාවෙන් මනුෂ්‍යත්වය දිගු කල හැකි සෑම මොහොතකම නොපැකිලව ඉදිරිපත් වන්න...

එහි ප්‍රතිඵලය කවදා හෝ පෙරළා ඔබට ලැබෙනු නිසැකය...

අප, අප වෙනුවෙන් කල දේවල් අපත් සමඟ මියයයි....
අප, අන් අය වෙනුවෙන් කල දේවල්, අප මියගියද සදාකාලිකව පවතී...

TEMPLE OF BLACK MAGIC
During our bicycle ride, we stop in a place where a priest communicates and deals with invisible powers. The place is called “Temple of Black Magic”. This visit will be an amazing opportunity to understand the “Black Magic Culture” and traditions which is unique to Sri Lanka.
In the Sri Lankan society today, “The Temples of Black Magic” plays a major role. Specially, among the rural community, this has become a part of the life. In the east part of the world, people are afraid of evils, invisibles and supernatural powers. In the aforesaid “Temple of Black Magic”, the priest never wears slippers or shoes. He says “I am a part of the earth, and I always communicate with it, and, I am the coordinator between the earth and sky, they always pass messages through myself, if I wear slippers, the communication breaks”.
Not only the villagers but also people from faraway places come to this “Temple of Black Magic” to get service. The ambition of some of the customers may be selfish, cheatery or unlawful. And, with the help of those invisible powers, he sees the past, present and future of a person.

LOCAL MILK COLLECTING CENTER

It is a true fact that Sri Lanka is enrich with its livestock. That is because of the tropical climate. In the past decades, most of the milk produced locally had been used for domestic requirements.
Today, with the help of government and private organizations, the local milk producers play a considerable role for the economic development. Now, the process of milk producing and collecting system are managed nicely.
Each village has a place to collect milk from the villagers in the morning. Then, the collected milk is taken to the center where stored in cold condition then taken to the factory.

BLACKSMITH
The finest example of a hard-worker, knowledge, patience, technology and the instinct is the “Blacksmith”. The word “Black” comes due to the color of black that appears as a layer of oxides on the surface of the metal, when heating. So, the person is called “Blacksmith”
It is going to be a very big process of science, but done very simply with few tools and trained mind. Only very few things we can see in a “Blacksmith”. They are hammer, anvil, bellows, wrought iron, forge and few tools such as chisels.

Here, we see seven basic operations in a “Blacksmith”. They are drawing down, upsetting, swagging, shrinking, bending, punching and forge welding. The instinct of the “Blacksmith” is uncomparable with the other professions. Because, every indications are measured by eyes. When the iron heats to the maximum temperature, it becomes red, orange, yellow, and finally white. Glowing colour of the metal is important for making anything.
