Our property is located in Ranamure village next to Knuckles forest reserve and cannot be reached by vehicles. The vehicles should be parked in our parking lot and walk about 800m (10-15 minutes) to reach our place. We have 2 cottages that can be accommodate between 12 and 15 people.
Accommodation with meals (full board) for groups of more than 4 guests (locals and resident visa holders only) will cost Rs. 6500 per person.

Knuckles infinity pool Doowili Ella Trail is one of the most picturesque trails in Sri Lanka. passing Naranthalagala and Ginikeliyawa Pathan grass lands and beautiful landscape of Mini World's end , the trail leads to Infinity pool and Doowili Ella. The total distance of the trail is about 9 Km starting from Trekkers'Hut knuckles or Ranamure

මීමුරේ සහ නාරංගමුව යනු ලකේ ගල දෙපැත්තේ පිහිටි සුන්දර ගම්මාන දෙකක්. වනාන්තය මැදින් පිහිටි කුඩා අඩි පාරකින් සම්බන්ද උනත් මේ ගම්මාන දෙක අයිති වෙන්නේ දිස්ත්රික්ක දෙකකට. මීමුරේ මහ නුවර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයට අයත් වන අතර නරන්ගමුව අයත් වෙන්නේ මාතලේ දිස්ත්රික්කයේ ලග්ගල පල්ලේගමට.

Knuckles Range is a hub of scenic waterfalls; trekkers hut is hidden in the border of knuckles range, just next to a very lesser known attraction called Ella Gala Ella water Fall. To reach the property one has to hike about 10- 15 minutes from the parking point.

Tennent's leaf-nosed lizard / දුම්බර අං කටුස්සා /Ceratophora tennentii
Ceratophora tennentii, commonly known as the Tennent's leaf-nosed lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Agamidae. The species is consider as a point endemic to Knuckles Forest Reserve Sri Lanka. C. tennentii has a leaf-like appendage on the end of its nose. C. tennentii is found in the wet tropical montane cloud forests of the Knuckles mountains in Sri Lanka at elevations of 760–1,220 m (2,490–4,000 ft).

Life @ kalupahana 12 years back
Knuckles -Kalupahana is a broad area of relatively flat land among mountains of knuckles, which was covered with Cardamom estates since 50 years. 1960’s Sri Lankan government encouraged villages to grow cardamom in misty mountains as cash crop. However after the understanding of the long term impact of cardamom to the ecosystem, department of forest decided to remove people from the forest/their cultivations through taking legal actions. However many poor villages were left without any substitute lands or any other compensation. KMP Wadiya (Last picture) is the only remaining cardamom hut today at Kalupahana that is used by many hikers and researches as their resting place under permission of department of forest.

Thunhisgala Trek –
Thunhisgala (තුන් හිස් ගල - නකල්ස් කඳු වැටිය) is about 1627m in hight and situated in the knuckles forest reserve, in central province of Sri Lanka. The name ” Thunhisgala ” expresses the meaning of three heads combined together to form mountain peak. it’ll take about 6 hours for beginner to complete this trek via “Kalupahana and KMP wadiya” is a place which the cardamom planters has been used for storing Cardamom will give you a stay for a while.

The Knuckles forest reserve නකල්ස් වන රක්ෂිතය / නකල්ස් කඳු වැටිය lies in central Sri Lanka, in the Districts of Matale and Kandy. The range takes its name from a series of recumbent folds and peaks in the west of the massif which resemble the knuckles of clenched fist when viewed from certain locations. Whilst this name was assigned by early British surveyors, the locals have traditionally referred to the area as Dumbara Kanduvetiya meaning Mist-laden Mountains.
