𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮 පානම - ශ්‍රී ලංකාව
Panama is a coastal village located 12 KM south to Arugam Bay of Eastern Province. Panama is host to a charmed way of life and century-old traditions unheard of in modern Sri Lanka. Spiritual beliefs and faith intertwine irrevocably with the quiet everyday life in the village.
Panama is rich with quite a stunning beach that shouldn’t be missed during your holiday. The waves of Panama Beach are just the best fit for surfing as they are not that harsh as in the other beaches.
Camping on a beach is almost entirely different to camping anywhere else. The terrain is not exactly tent-friendly, with the soft beach sand not doing much for securing a tent. There isn’t a lot of natural shelter to be found either, exposing you to the elements at all times. And, of course, the most difficult challenge of all is the lack of clean water.

Delft National Park is the only place in Sri Lanka to observe wild ponies, who are believed to have been introduced to the island by the Portuguese. The delft island is accessible by both water and air, with a boat ferry taking up to an hour, starting from Punkudativu.

Delft is an island situated in the Palk straight, in northern Sri Lanka. The island is flat with shallow waters and beaches of coral chunks and sand surrounding it. The vegetation is semi-arid tropical with palmyrah, dry shrubs and grasses growing on grey porous coralline soil. The Park and the surrounding island is the home to most of the birds and aquatic animals common to the northern part of Sri Lanka.
The name Delft is derived from the Dutch city of Delft, named by Rijckloff van Goens, who also named seven other islands after cities in his home country. Even though the name only as old as the colonial period, the history of the island itself goes back to around 1000 years ago, to the times of Chola Dynasty, of which an old temple can be seen in the western coast of the island.

The island was fortified during the Dutch era and even though not as big or strong as Galle or Trincomalee forts, a fort made by Dutch surrounds the island.

Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka for three centuries between the 11th to 13th C after destruction of Anuradhapura Kingdom in 993. It is located in north central province of Sri Lanka. Due to its archaeological prominence and the ancient technological superiority, UNESCO declared Polonnaruwa as a World Heritage in 1982 under the name of “The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa”

The Polonnaruwa legacy may have lasted for only two centuries however judging by the colossal monuments and monasteries it left behind it is clear that it was dynasty that cannot be easily forgotten. The archaeology remains at Polonnaruwa are exhibited at the Museum of the Central Cultural Fund and its visitor centre.

Polonnaruwa is an unprecedented place due to its spectacular works of architecture that belong to both Buddhist and Hindu cultures. Stupendous image shrines like Lankathilaka, the Tivanka Image house, Gal Viharaya, Vatadageya and the Seven story edifice known as the Sathmahalprasada, just to name a few from the long list of invaluable sites that can be visited.

This is also known as the Mahathupa (the Great Thupa) is a stupa (a hemispherical structure containing Buddha’s relics) located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Two quarts of the Buddha's relics are enshrined in this stupa, making it the largest collection of his relics anywhere.
Ruwanweli Stupa is one of the 8 holy places that Buddhists should visit in Anuradhapura. (Atamasthana)
The stupa is one of the world's tallest ancient monuments, standing at 103 Mts (338 Ft) and with a circumference of 290 Mts (951 FT). The Mahavamsa (Great chronicle of Sri Lanka) contains a detailed account on the construction and the opening ceremony of the stupa.
Due to the living heritages on Anuradhapura including this Stupa, UNESCO declared Anuradhapura as a World Heritage under the name of “The Sacred City of Anuradhapura Sri Lanka”
Ruwanweli Stupa was built by Sinhalese King Dutugemunu in 140 B.C., who became king of Sri Lanka. It is also known as Swarnamali Seya, Svaṇṇamāli Mahaceti (in Pali) and Rathnamali Seya.

Elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka which was established in 1975 started with 5 orphaned elephants and the current population is 93 of both sexes / all age groups. Prime purpose of the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage is to provide refuge for the elephants which are injured / orphaned & abandoned in the wild. This orphanage is operating as a breeding ground too since 1980. Most of the new arrivals are babies and after a few days of quarantine, they are released into the herd who welcome them happily. Orphanage covers an area of 23 acre land in the middle of the county & managed by the Department of National Zoological Gardens. This is the largest captive herd of elephants in the world belonging to the Elephas maximus maximus.

Is the only Hindu Temple which dedicated to Princess Sita in Sri Lanka. This is one of the important Ramayana related places of Sri Lanka. Sita Amman Temple is located in Nuwara Eliya. Sita Eliya area (10 Min drive from Nuwara Eliya Town) close to Hakgala Botanic Garden.
According to the epic of Ramayana it is the believed that Hanumanji burnt this area before he left Sri Lanka. With reference to the Ramayana proof of Sri Lanka it is believed that the Sita devi was kept captive at this site by King Ravana
