Bakers Bend is a scenic viewpoint located on the Nonpareil Estate close to Belihuloya, Sri Lanka. It's a unique horseshoe-shaped bend situated at the 23rd bend of the Nonpareil Estate Road leading from Belihuloya to Nagarak Banglow. 🌄

The viewpoint offers stunning views of the surrounding areas including Balathuduwa, Gommolikanda, Adarakanda mountain range on one side, southern plains, Samanala reservoir and Udawalawe reservoirs on the other side, and Nagrak division and Horton Plains behind. It stands at a height of approximately 5,000 feet (1,530 meters) above sea level and offers a climate similar to Nuwara Eliya. 🏞️🔭

There are two ways to get to Bakers Bend. If you are coming from the Haputale side, you can come to Pabahinna and travel about 500 meters from there. You will need permission from the Nonpareil Estate to access the viewpoint since vehicles are not allowed past the factory gate unless you have a booking at Nagrak Bungalow. 🚗

Mihintale, a mountain peak near Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, is considered the birthplace of Buddhism in the country. Legend has it that in 247 BC, Buddhist monk Mahinda met King Devanampiyatissa here, converting the king and establishing Buddhism as the island's religion. 🏞️

Now a sacred pilgrimage site, Mihintale offers a glimpse into Sri Lanka's Buddhist past. The climb to the summit is manageable, taking around 15-20 minutes. Jaffna Fort is a historic landmark in Sri Lanka, located near the coastal village of Gurunagar. Built in 1618 by the Portuguese, it was initially named Fortress of Our Lady of Miracles of Jafanapatão. The Dutch captured the fort in 1658 and expanded its structure. 🏰
