· Fluent in English and other foreign Languages

· Sound Educational qualifications.

· Ability to communicate with foreigners and arrange transportation/tour packages.

· Knowledge of destination and Hotels in Sri Lanka

· Ability to work long hours

· Ability to work with minimum supervision

Anuradhapura which is situated about 206 Km away from the airport is the first capital of Sri Lanka. This was founded in 5 centuries B.C and this city had the palaces of the Kings, who ruled the country at that time. They gave prominence to Buddhism and due to this attachment, they built large structures called Dagabasto enshrine the relics of Buddha. In size these dome – shaped structures are similar to the pyramids of Egypt. The sacred Bo Tree, which is a sapling of the original Bo – Tree under which Buddha attained enlightment is found in this city. This is also considered as one of the world’s oldest trees. Another interesting place is the Archaeological Museum of Anuradhapura which contains among other exhibits coins, puppets, coins, drawings, beads.

Sigiriya (Lion Rock Sinhalese: සීගිරිය, Tamil: சிகிரியா, pronounced see-gi-ri-yə) is an ancient palace located in the central Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure —Sīhāgiri, the Lion Rock. The capital and the royal palace was abandoned after the king's death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century.

Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka.

Colombo first among world's fastest growing tourist cities

Among the 10 fastest growing cities in the world (based on data gathered over the last six years), seven are in Asia, CNN reported.

Sri Lanka's capital city of Colombo is first in growth with a staggering 21% surge, with Chengdu, the capital of China's Sichuan province, following in second.
Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, ranked third in terms of growth; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, placed fifth.
Lima, Peru, is the wold's ninth-fastest growing city, and the fastest growing city in South America.

Every month there is a day, when the moon turns full and that day is set apart by the Buddhists in Sri Lanka for religious observances. Poson Poya Day is treated as a special day, which falls in the month of June. It is on this day Arahat-Mahinda, the son of King Asoka the Great Emperor of India had converted king Devanampiya Tissa, the ruler of Sri Lanka to accept Buddhism. And from this day onward Buddhism took a strong hold with the population of the country. This significant incident had taken place in the 3rd century BC. So on June 2nd, the rock on which Mahinda completed this mission by meeting with King Devanampiya Tissa which is called Mihintale situated in Anuradhapura. Becomes the center of all festivities. In other parts of the country too processions are conducted in the most grandeur manner.

Sri Lanka Tourism welcomes 100,000th Chinese Tourist of year 2014

Achieving another remarkable milestone in the country’s flourishing tourism industry, Sri Lanka Tourism welcomed the arrival of 100,000th Chinese tourist in year 2014 at the Bandaranaike International Airport today 11th September 2014. Sri Lanka Tourism officials including Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Mr. Bhashwara Gunarathna, along with tourism officials and representatives from travel and tourism industry warmly welcomed the couple HE YOUNG and CHEN HUI HUA from Shanghai who arrived via UL 867 Sri Lankan Airlines flight from Shanghai at 5.30 a.m. as the 100,000th tourist in year 2014 to Sri Lanka.
