Location ๐ Weligama
Weligama, translated as sandy village, is a great place to learn to surf, about a two kilometre stretch of shallow sandy beach. One of the best places in south Sri Lanka to discover a connection with the ocean and catch your first wave. Get there for first light and surf till sunrise, it usually quiet until 8am so a good time to practice on uncontended waves. The bay is protected somewhat from the wind, if the rest of the coast is blown it can be better here. 400m ride on a slow, low power wave. Many lefts and rights that appear at different tides the best swell from the south west. Easily be surfed when small, holds up to 5ft. A big swell on a beginners break is kook carnage with boards flying everywhere, very entertaining to watch. Expect learner drop-ins and to make some new buddies out the back.

Location ๐ Diyaluma Falls

Diyaluma is a highlight amongst them. The view of the plunge pool at the top is breathtaking,
this mesmerizing sight of nature pinnacles to a height of 220m making it the second tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. Diyaluma is an hour journey away from the hillside village of Ella and is a tedious hike to the top.
If you are in the area, we highly recommend visiting this spot to soak in natural beauty of Sri Lanka. You will find a bunch of rock pools on your way to top as well as posts for cliff jumping. Make your most wonderful adventures at Diyaluma,

๐ Pidurangala rock
Pidurangala rock located very close to Rock Fortress, Pidurangala archaeological site is not so commonly visited place. The gravel road by the Sigiriya leads you to Pidurangala. You can follow the Archilogical department name road and need to travel around 2 km.
History of Pidurangala flows beyond the 1 & 2 century B.C. Pidurangala was used as a Monastery from those days. But this place becomes a prominent Buddhist Monastery during the King Kasyapa time ( 477 - 495 AC). Some believe that Sigiriaya also a Buddhist monastery before the King Kasyapa time. Once he decided to built his fortress in Sigiriya, he requested the monk to move to Pidurangala and had contributed lot for the development of it. It is believed that the "Uppalavanna Kashyapa Giri Viharaya" which was constructed by King Kashyapa was located in the Pidurangala.

Sri Lanka is considering reopening its air and sea borders in July to foreign tourists, TTG Asia reported.
However, Sri Lanka Tourismโs chairperson Kimarli Fernando said arrivals would be mostly overseas Sri Lankans returning to visit relatives and friends. In anticipation of this, the Government is planning to aggressively promote domestic tourism in nine provinces to help fill hotels and resorts.
To reassure travellers, Fernando shared that hotels will have to go through a new certification process to ensure their properties are compliant with globally accepted health and safety standards. Also in the works is the Visit Sri Lanka Year campaign in 2022.
