Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is about 100 kilometres northeast of Colombo and it can take two and half or three hours to drive there.
Enjoy the elephant bathing and take some wonderful photos of the baby elephants playing in the river.

𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐍𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 🇱🇰 🌿 💗

This waterfall is not unfamiliar to anyone traveling from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya but it is a beautiful waterfall that is not accessible to many people. Gerandigini Falls is an amalgamation of several falls totaling a height of 270m. Such is its scale, the fall can be seen from a considerable distance. The stream springs from the Galaha Forest Reserve, passing Galbithiya and onto the Puna Oya (river).
Ranked 18th in height, the best place to experience the beauty of the place is the rocky outcrop at the top of the hill where the waterfall cascades down. Kotmale Reservoir, Monaragala Hill (Peacock Hill) and a large area can be seen on the rock and Samanala Kanda can be seen from here on a clear day.

Narangala mountain is another popular mountain among climbers. It is situated 19.7 km away from the Badulla district in the Uva Province. Narangala Mountain is very popular among the climbers and it rises to over 1500 m (1527 m). There are two entrances to Narangala mountain, Keenakale side and Tangamale Devalaya side. The Keenakale side is generally very popular with climbers.

Laxapana Falls is 126 m high and the 8th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 625th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Maskeliya area in Nuwara Eliya District, about 16 km from Maskeliya town on Maskeliya-Norton Bridge road, in a village called Kiriwan Eliya.

Lipton’s Seat is perhaps the most popular attraction in Haputale. Situated an hour away from Haputale town, Lipton’s Seat is a viewpoint named after the celebrated Thomas Lipton. He was a Scottish businessman who moved to British Ceylon in 1890, where he met James Taylor and together they introduced tea gardens to the country. Prior to Lipton’s arrival, Taylor had attempted to grow coffee on the island, however, the coffee plantations were devastated by a leaf-blight. With Lipton’s help, the two men embarked on a business venture which would outlive their lifetimes.

Gartmore Falls is situated in the Maskeliya town of Nuwara Eliya. It is 25 meters in height and is also known as “Sri Pada Falls” or “Adam’s Peak Falls” since it is located close to the Sri Pada Holy Mountain. Gartmore waterfall, located inside the Gartmore Estate, falls on to the Maskeliya Reservoir. It is fed by two streams which join above the Gartmore falls. Each of these streams creates a waterfall before joining and lies inside the Gartmore Estate. These two waterfalls named Upper Gartmore Falls and Lower Gartmore Falls, in combination are called Gartmore Estate Waterfalls or Gartmore Falls.

The Nuwara Eliya tea factory that we visited is called Damro Labookellie Tea Centre (former Mackwoods) and is the oldest tea centre in Sri Lanka.
En route to the picturesque city of Nuwara Eliya and at an elevation of 5,000 feet, stands the famed Labookellie Estate Tea Factory, renowned for producing some of Ceylon’s finest Teas and the estate itself, established nearly 150 years ago, is perhaps the second oldest tea plantation in the Island.

Yapahuwa is located a little way off the Kurunegala-Anuradhapura road, in the Wayamba province of Sri Lanka. Of all the ancient ruins in the country the Rock Fortress Complex of Yapahuwa is considered to be quite remarkable despite the fact that it isn't famous among most visitors. However, it is renowned as one of the best archeological site in the country.

Galle Fort is the most beautiful coastal town in Sri Lanka. Dunhinda Falls is a waterfall located about 5 kilometres from Badulla in the lower central hills of Sri Lanka. The waterfall, which is 64 metres high, gets its name from the smoky dew drops spray, which surrounds the area at the foot of the waterfall. The fall is created by the Badulu Oya which flows through Badulla.

The beautiful Sera Ella falls, which has been a rich source for poetry in the past is situated in Dumbara jungle in Matale, Sri Lanka. The fall is 10 meters high and falls in two sections. The fall is formed by the waters of Thelgamu Oya. To form this waterfall, water from Kitul Canal, from the Kaudagammana Mountain and Hunumadala River join Puwakpitiya River, which later joins Thelgamu Oya.

The name 'Kadiyanlena Ella' came to this waterfall with the legend of the past called 'Broken Falls'. In fact, the name is apt for this waterfall. That is to say, this waterfall falls into three parts. Two sections of it break up at the top of the main road and the other at the bottom.

The Nine Arch Bridge, also known as the ‘Bridge in the Sky’ was constructed by connecting two bog mountains when constructing the Badulla – Colombo railway. The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is on the Demodara loop and spans 91 meters at a height of 24m. A piece of beautiful architecture hidden between lush green tea fields.

MADU GANGA 🏞🛥

Madu Ganga is the second biggest wetland in Sri Lanka. Abundantly rich in biodiversity, the river covers at least 150 acres of land and consists of 14 mangroves out of the 24 mangrove species found in Sri Lanka. The Madu Ganga wetland is considered to be one of the last remaining tracts of mangrove forests. It is the best place to watch prawn farming and traditional fishing methods. It is also home to 300 species of plants and about 250 wildlife species which makes it a haven for the ecologists and the botanists.
