Bomburu Ella falls (also known as Perawella falls) is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is 50 meters high and is situated in Sita Eliya Kandapola forest reserve. This beauty belongs to both Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts. Some consider this beauty as the most beautiful waterfall in Sri Lanka, making this a must-visit destination for every traveller.

Kehelpathdoruwa is a hiking area which is situated in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is located en route to Yahangala, which is also a popular hiking spot. Kehelpathdoruwa has a higher elevation and better views in comparison to Yahngala. However, Kehelpathdoruwa is not as popular as the latter. Hence it is a bit difficult to get directions. Even some of the locals are not aware of it and would most probably give directions to Yahangala. Hikers can get directions from some of the locals in the Kalugala village who know about Kehelpathdoruwa.

Jaffna Fort is a fort built by the Portuguese at Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 1618 under Phillippe de Oliveira following the Portuguese invasion of Jaffna. The fort is located near the coastal village of Gurunagar. The Fort had an almost military function with its unique layout.

Pigeon Island National Park is one of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka. The national park is situated 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli, a coastal town in Eastern Province, encompassing a total area of 471.429 hectares. The island's name derives from the rock pigeon which has colonized it.

Nuwara Eliya golf course 🍃

The Nuwara Eliya Golf course set in one of the most scenic towns of the country is hugely popular with visitors due to its beauty as well as its demanding playing standards. Being at an altitude of 6,000 feet effects play as the ball travels faster and almost with an estimated six percent accuracy. This 18-hole golf course spans across almost 100 acres of land. Visitors are welcome as temporary members where if you are not a member, the club requires that visitors make a reservation prior to their arrival. There is a lively bar and restaurant where members can entertain guests. The club has a separate ladies’ section as well.

Blue Beach Island is a small island in the Nilwella area between Dickwella and Tangalle in the Matara District of the Southern Province. This is private land. It is a beautiful island surrounded by the Blue Sea. A small layer of sand connecting the island and the land. You can travel to the island through this. At certain times of the year, this layer of sand is covered by sea waves.

The Polonnaruwa Vatadage is an ancient structure dating back to the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa of Sri Lanka. Aberdeen Falls is a 98 m high waterfall on the Kehelgamu Oya near Ginigathena, in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. Aberdeen is named after Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland and the capital of Aberdeenshire. Kehelgamu Oya is a major tributary of the Kelani River.
This is the only waterfall in Sri Lanka that can be viewed from the inside due to the beautifully formed rock formations at the foot of the Aberdeen Waterfall which are of almost unique beauty.

Lakegala mountain is situated in Sri Lanka about 175 kilometres away from the capital Colombo. This mountain is situated in Meemure village. Lakegala is situated near the Border between Kandy and Matale Districts. There are several access points to Lakegala rock but the safest access road is from Meemure Village.

Lipton’s Seat is perhaps the most popular attraction in Haputale. Situated an hour away from Haputale town, Lipton’s Seat is a viewpoint named after the celebrated Thomas Lipton. He was a Scottish businessman who moved to British Ceylon in 1890, where he met James Taylor and together they introduced tea gardens to the country. Prior to Lipton’s arrival, Taylor had attempted to grow coffee on the island, however, the coffee plantations were devastated by a leaf-blight. With Lipton’s help, the two men embarked on a business venture which would outlive their lifetimes.

The Nine Arch Bridge, also known as the ‘Bridge in the Sky’ was constructed by connecting two bog mountains when constructing the Badulla – Colombo railway. The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is on the Demodara loop and spans 91 meters at a height of 24m. A piece of beautiful architecture hidden between lush green tea fields.

Idalgashinna is a small village in the Badulla District, Uva Province, Sri Lanka. Situated at an elevation of about 1,615 metres above sea level, it is located in the Haputale-Namunukula mountain range.
During the British period and before that, Idalgashinna was a famous entrance to the upland country. Idalgashinna gap and Haputale gap (1700-1500 m) are prominent passes that allow entry through almost impenetrable mountain.
