Royal Palace of King Parakramabhahu (I) in polonnaruwa World heritage site.
Originaly a 7 storied building built in 11th century, but remains only 3 after "Chola" invasion and burnt down the Palace.
It is said that a system of Lifts were used to take people to the top floor and a cooling system using water was inbuilt, in the walls of this glorious Palace.

Avukana Buddha Statue,
This is a standing statue of the Buddha, located in North Central Sri Lanka. The statue is more than 40 feet (12 m) in hight,and was carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century. Statue is carved in Abhaya mudra during the reign of King Dhatusena in Anuradhapura Era.
The Avukana statue is one of the best examples of a standing statue constructed in ancient Sri Lanka.
It is now a popular tourist attraction.

This ancient structure is dating back to the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa of Sri Lanka. It is believed to have been built in 12th century during King Parakramabahu I era,to hold the Relic of the tooth of the Buddha.

Samdhi Budda statue (Anuradhapura Era)
This is the one of the finest Buddha statues, belongs to 4th century,showing the deep meditation of Buddha in virasana type.
It is believed that this is one of 04 statues which were installed in 04 cardinal points of Bodhi tree. Some pigments of the body of the statue suggests that this must have been painted and gems were embedded in side the eyes.

One cannot take eyes away, from the calm delicacy of this stone carved statue.
