EXAMPLE

• February 16 Airport pickup CMB. Time permitting, we will tour Negombo’s famous fish market and the Dutch canals.

Night 1 - Negombo

• February 17 After breakfast, begin our journey north to Sigiriya, Lion’s Rock. Climb Sigiriya and enjoy the sites.

Night 2 - Dambulla

• February 18 After breakfast, travel to see the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa. In the afternoon you can explore the ruins by cycling if you like. Then we finish the site-seeing.

Night 3 - Dambulla

• February 19 After breakfast, we will visit Dambulla Cave Temple and Golden Temple. Then continue to visit the Spice Gardens and the Hindu Temple in Matale. We end our day with our arrival in Kandy.

Night 4 - Kandy

• February 20 After breakfast, we will visit Kandy City, Kandy Lake, and visit the Temple of the Tooth. In the afternoon, we will visit the Royal Botanical Gardens and return for the evening cultural dance show in Kandy.

Night 5 - Kandy

• February 21 After breakfast, we depart Kandy and our first stop will be at Bluefield tea factory / plantation where you can see the tea growing and the tea process. We will have a tea tasting and biscuits. You will enjoy this relaxing experience. After the tea plantation, we will visit Ramboda water falls and then continue our day, ending in Nuwara Eliya.

Night 6 - Nuwara Eliya

• February 22 After breakfast, you will take the famous train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. I will arrange your tickets and help you onboard the train. I will drive and meet you with the van at the station in Ella. After the train, we will visit Mini Adams Peak. Continue our drive to Yala.

Night 7 - Yala

• February 23 Early morning, have breakfast and morning safari in Yala National Park. Lunch break. Then continue our drive to Mirissa Beach.

Night 8 - Mirissa

• February 24 Early morning whale watching in Mirissa. After you return, we will visit the famous Stilt fishermen of Kogalla, then visit a turtle farm, continue to Galle / Galle Fort. We will end the day at beautiful Wadduwa Beach.

Night 9 - Wadduwa Beach

• February 25 Depart Wadduwa Beach at your leisure. Drive to Colombo. Take Colombo City Tour, covering all the highlights of Colombo.

Night 10 - Colombo or Negombo. Overnight depends on departure flight time.

• February 26 Hotel pickup and last minute assistance. Drop at CMB 2.5 hours before departure.

As most of us around the world are under ‘stay at home’ orders, it has created time for gratitude and reflection on the beautiful world we now miss so much. Last year, we traveled to Sri Lanka and spent 10 days with Dilhan Suraweera and Dilhan’s Awesome Adventures. We visited every major place of interest as well as many places on many roads less traveled. The experience we had in Sri Lanka was life changing. We came home different people. The locals are warm and gracious. The food is some of the best I’ve ever had. The accommodations where we stayed were clean and authentic, and more importantly, run by proud owners who wanted your happiness more than anything in the world. We were treated like Royalty and Family at the same time. My husband and I have been world travelers for almost 25 years and this was our favorite trip. We want to go back. SOON. Please do not let this terrible virus make you afraid to travel to places far away. Take precautions naturally, but go! Life is short. At the end of the line, you will only regret the things you didn’t do. If you go to Sri Lanka, I cannot recommend Dilhan Suraweera and his organization highly enough. They were fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful memory
