where you can hear the melody of the nature and the praying voices of the monks,
where you can see monkey gangs hanging around in the trees and goannas taking naps in the sun,

t was just a magical dream,
but through the believe of the four people it started to grow some wings. Everyday it's changing, inspired by the rythm of life. Gioia Family came together and started to make this dream come true. Background :
About us:

We (Laura, 19 and Josh, 20) are both from Munich in Germany and we first came to Sri Lanka in December 2013.At that time,
we were just traveling around. The first time the idea of Gioia-House came up, was the 1st of january 2014,
when we met Hansa and Kathrin, the owners of the house. After they showed us their place, none of us could stop talking about
starting something over here. So, after half a year of planing, working and dreaming, we came back to Sri Lanka to build up a little paradise. About the House:

There are two rooms available for rent so far, both have their own bathroom. One room is for 2 Persons, the other for 2/3 Persons. There's a kitchen which everybody can use. The House is surrounded by jungle, our garden. A lot of small chill out areas hidden in the garden invite to enjoy the diversity of Sri Lanka's beautiful nature. Every Afternoon the monkey gangs show up to play in the trees, goannas moving slowly from one to the other sunspot,
birds in every colour you can imagine giving a peaceful background melody, peakcocs demonstrating their beautiness and chameleons hiding behind leaves. Lying in one of many hammocks, listening to the chanting and praying of the monks from one of the three temples closeby, is one the best opportunities to calm down and relax. We have scooters which we rent for 800 LKR per day, there are also always Tuk-Tuk Drivers at the house. You can reach the famous Weligama Bay (longest bay in Sri Lanka) in 3 minutes with the scooter. It's a good place for surfing,
long beachwalks or just hanging out drinking a king coconut. Over here you find many surfschools and places where you can rent boards for 300 LKR per hour. Another 3 minutes it takes you to Midigama, a small village next to the sea where you have beautiful empty beaches
and lots of surfpoints for advanced surfers. A 15 minutes drive brings you to Mirissa, the perfect place for partys or having a sunset-drink
in one of many bars at the beach. Over here, there is also a surfpoint for experienced surfers and beautiful bays for snorkeling. Their are many agencys offering whale-watching tours or Safaris to Yala or Udawallawa Nationalpark. If you decide to explore the inland by scooter, you find unbelieveable green rice-fields, lakes covered with searoses and countless little streets leading through jungle, small villages and breathtaking views.
