Prague, Czechia was one of the most magical cities I've ever lived in. I was there for about 3-4 months and I got to enjoy the amazing autumn and Christmas vibes the city has.

Here are my thoughts:

1. The city itself is absolutely beautiful and easy to move around with the tram, buses or metro. Apps I used for tickets were PID Litacka (best one) and Czech Public Transport IDOS.
2. You're better of having a Revolut or Twise Card where you can convert to the Czech Koruna and make payments using the local currency. The city is expensive.
3. Organise your accommodation as early as possible - the prices are wild!!
4. It will be lonely unless you try to make some friends - find events that interest you so you can find like-minded people. People do seem on the colder side, but the international community is big too.
5. The city is extremely crowded due to the high volume of tourists, so you'll need to get used to that.
6. Join in order to explore the city and get an understanding of the history. I used to book tours.

Above all else, keep an open mind and enjoy your stay there!

Moving can be quite a stressful process. This is true for moving within the same city or even country, and more so to a whole different continent. Not only is the packing and flying a problem, but so too is the house hunting.

Check out my blog for some quick advice on how to find a place to stay in the EU.

Welcome to my world!
Read about the experiences of a foreigner in a foreign land learning to adapt and integrate into a society that’s not particularly welcoming. I am based in Europe and have been here a while. With this blog, For someone hoping to live in Europe, you can pick up a thing or two before making a jump from wherever they are from – North/South America, Australia, Africa, Asia, or the Middle East – and any other place I may have neglected to mention in this somewhat specific list. Click the link in my bio to read more about my experiences in Europe.
