Second episode.
INTUITION!
In the Ancient Greek order of creation first came Chaos. From formless chaos two beings were born, Erebus the darkness and Nyx the night. The second episode of the Midwives of the Apocalypse Podcast , intuition follows on from chaos. Intuition is the skill of seeing in the dark. Initiation is often shunned however it is a skeleton tool of birth craft it is a skill and an art and needs to be interwoven with our clinical skills. In this episode we discuss: How to increase our skills of perception discernment and intuition. Intuition, instinct and fear. Moving with ‘doing to’ and ‘being with’. Spirits, the lack of spirit and the crisis of ‘unholy’ births.

Dalinuosi dar vienu kūdikiu. Pati labai, labai jaudinuosi, nes šiuo būdu labai tikiu ir noriu, kad šis vaikas užaugtų sveikas mūsų žemėje ir darytų gerus darbus mūsų pavargusiems žmonėms.

The beauty is that the re-education happens spontaneously. It is not laborious procces of learning prescribed postures or positions, but rather a spontanious rediscovery of the form of comfort. Through techniques like Ortho-Bionomy we can learn again to be ourselves - in comfort.

Renginiai:

Orto-bionomijos savipagalba - vasario 21d.

Ortho-Bionomy ® Workshop in Lithuania with Lynne Marotta - gegužės 22-26 d.

It demands of you to be able to dance within rhythms of ease, emergency, fire and flood.

In this episode we explore:

Dear friends, colleagues and family. I know it's not a matter of life and death. It's about culture and the dissemination and preservation of heritage. Such a wonderful thing happened that my report on Lithuania's traditional midwifery was received by imagine as many as 35th - conference of homebirths in Australia. I add a link for those who are interested here:
https://www.homebirthaustralia.org/conference.html
It cost me to ask for help ussually.
However, since I do not belong to any institution, no one pays me travel expenses or subsistence expenses and even conference membership fees. :)
You were the ones who inspired me to create this platform. And that's how many beautiful things were born in it, how much more I had the opportunity to learn.
Well, I am trying my luck with the help of all of you. So that the big Australia will hear about the tiny but unique Lithuania! ✨🐚✨
In addition to my announcement, the short documentary movie "Birth Haiku", shot in the fall of 2022, is also scheduled to be presented. Director by Ieva Juodelyte
It looks like I'm going to take a full bag of cultural gifts 🐦
And if you're not going to donate anything, look around the platform there it's pretty nice maybe you'll even be able to meet your inner grandma or grandpa 🦉
Here you will see my sleepless nights while montage the video and gluing subtitles... Cinematic art affair is interesting though!
And of course I leave a link to the platform itself!👇

Some tips about pelvic floor!

Some tips about pelvic floor!

Do you know how much you can do in pregnancy to optimise your pelvic floor recovery postpartum?

Here is my list:

1️⃣ Get assessed by a pelvic health physio

They'll be able to tell whether your pelvic floor is too weak, too tight or has a normal tone. You'll then know then what to focus on during pregnancy: neither tightness nor weakness is optimal for labour, but they may require different strategies.

2️⃣ Sit in a balanced way

How do you sit right now? When you sit closer to your tailbone, you create conditions for a tighter pelvic floor. Tighter doesn't mean stronger.
You can prepare for birth and optimise pelvic floor release (then required) by sitting in a more balanced way, “on the top” of your sitting bones.

3️⃣ Learn about pelvic floor

Learn how your pelvic floor works in coordination with your breathing and diaphragm. Also, learn about Fetal Ejection Reflex - this will help you understand what conditions are most optimal in labour to protect your perineum and minimise tears.

4️⃣ Prepare your postpartum

Things like getting help and being able to rest, wrapping your pelvis, and using optimal breathing and proper alignment will help you protect your pelvic floor - before even you'll be "cleared" to exercise it.
Check this post for more details: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=651391623101779&set=a.645133020394306

Do you like these ideas?
How did your pelvic floor recovery go?
I am always curious to hear about your experience, let's talk in the comments 🙂

🌀REPOST🌀 by Mama Glow

“HAPPY JUNETEENTH- BLACK GRANNY MIDWIVES BIRTHED A NATION.
_
The first African Midwives arrived in America in 1619, bringing with them ancestral knowledge of healing wisdom from an array of African cultures and their rich and for prenatal care. Their extensive knowledge and well honed skills allowed them to care for enslaved black women and white women in the US and as well as deliver their babies. Very often the midwives would look after entire families, providing primary care for women, pediatric care for infants and , and medical care for men when necessary. Black Granny Midwives are integral to American history to the historical fabric of the obstetric and midwifery professions in United States.
_
Legislative action combined with racist propaganda was used to change an entire health care system and ancestral way of life, contributing to the development of health and reproductive disparities that persist to this day. Black midwives were scapegoated for the high infant mortality rates in the rural south when in fact their birth outcomes were far better than those of physicians, because obstetrics was a very new practice and the ancestral knowledge about the sacred womb was extensive and passed down for generations.
_
There was a systematic elimination of Black Midwives and their practices because new legislation provided reimbursement for obstetrical care suddenly making Black women attractive potential clientele to white physicians.
_
This is Maude Callen, born in 1898 in Florida, she went to South Carolina in the 1920s to work as a nurse-midwife in the most disenfranchised communities in the Lowcountry. She operated a community clinic from her rural home. She delivered hundreds of babies over the decades, taught prenatal care, she also trained women to become midwives.
_
The Legacy of Black Midwives is not celebrated as part of our rich history in this nation but we need to collectively bow to the women who delivered this nation.”

Happy Birthday to Qaapik Attagutsiak who turns 100 years old today, June 11. When you are with woman...

Notice yourself. Your own breathing. Allow it to become deep. Allow it to become soft. When you sit with a woman in labour notice yourself. Your body. Your breathing. Sit quietly in a corner. Or lie down. Avert your gaze. Droop your head as though in prayer. Close your eyes as though in meditation o...

About AMMA

AMMA Academy’s purpose is to elevate and honour midwifery. This profession is more than a trade, it’s a calling. Midwifery is a sacrament, an oath, a commitment and it’s how we honour all who developed and nurtured the art of birth before us and all who practice it now. Traditional midwifes accompany humanity through the ages since ancient times. Midwifery tradition has been kept alive passing down the knowledge from generation to generation for thousands of years and in some parts of the world this line has never been broken and is sustained until this day. Little by little it strengthens in places where it has faded as well. We are founding AMMA as a bridge in order to assemble and to spread the experience and knowledge from both the newest scientific research and traditional midwifery. Detailed information about the AMMA’s curriculum, dates of events and prices will be announced at the end of 2019.
