An update from Lake Atitlan! Press "continue reading" for English version! 🌲 🗻 🎠
Atitlan ezeras - magiska vieta. Ezero dugne palaidotas senovinis Maju miestas, o pakrantes nusetos mazais, vienas kitam groziu nenusileidzianciais miesteliais. I viena is tokiu miesteliu, San Pedro, atvykome jau po pietu.
Lake Atitlan is a magical place. An ancient Mayan city is buried inside the lake and it's shores are dotted with many villages, each one more beautiful than the other. We've arrived to one of the villages, San Pedro, in the afternoon. Just when we left the boat that took us here, and started making our way up the hill towards the centre of the village, we were stopped by an elderly Mayan woman: "I know a good hotel, not far from here, 25 Quetzal (around 3Eur.) per person". Although none of us believed that "a good hotel" can be so cheap, we agreed to give it a try. A few more minutes and a few slowly put together Spanish phrases later we were there. The end of the story is that we've stayed there, and when the time to leave has come we felt very sad.
