You mind seeing Latvian Independence day fireworks from the TV tower in Riga ?

18.novembrī svētku uguņošanu baudījām no TV torņa skatu laukuma. Redzamība perfekta, atmosfēra brīnišķīga un uguņošana iespaidīga.

Arī šodien laika prognoze ir labvēlīga, lai no skatu laukuma varētu vērot kā staro pilsēta, tāpēc aicinām jau no plkst. 17.00 līdz pat 23.00 apmeklēt Zaķusalas TV torni.

This weekend it is all about another city...

Ladies and gentleman, let me present you - one of the oldest cities in Latvia

Cēsis is just an 1,5 hour drive from Riga, but a lot to experience in just one weekend.

See you there ;)

If you are in Latvia, Cēsis is a city you must visit. The city owes its charm due to the well-preserved medieval atmosphere along with the contemporary culture. This weekend, Cēsis, the 3rd oldest city in Latvia, will celebrate its 810th anniversary. The festivities planned for the occasion will last three days among them, cultural and gastronomic events and games, and fireworks at the mighty Old Castle as the culmination point. From green meadows, pristine forest and clear rivers of the Gauja National Park to the Baltic's most impressive castle ruins – Cēsis region attracts tourists throughout the year. We could easily find 810 reasons for you to visit Cēsis but the best is to see it for yourself!

Riga is the capital and largest city of Latvia. With 693,064 inhabitants (January 2014), Riga is the largest city of the Baltic states and home to more than one third of Latvia's population. The city lies on the Gulf of Riga, at the mouth of the Daugava. Riga's territory covers 307.17 km2 (118.60 sq mi) and lies between 1 and 10 metres (3.3 and 32.8 ft) above sea level,[6] on a flat and sandy plain.
Riga was founded in 1201 and is a former Hanseatic League member. Riga's historical centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, noted for its Art Nouveau/Jugendstil architecture and 19th century wooden architecture. The city is the European Capital of Culture during 2014, along with Umeå in Sweden. The city hosted the 2006 NATO Summit, the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 and the 2006 IIHF Men's World Ice Hockey Championships. It is home to the European Union's office of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC). Riga is served by Riga International Airport, the largest airport in the Baltic states.
