The networking cruise for all the captains of the tourism industry. Networking on a ship - is it possible? Yes, it is! Organized by Tallink Silja International, on the way from Helsinki to Stockholm we participated in discussions about tourism in the Baltics with the representatives of key players of the industry from Germany, the Mediterranean, North America, Latin America, South East Asia, Japan, India, and the Caucasus.

The networking was taking place on non-formal meeting sessions with coffee, drinks, and dinner. The Nordic Tourism Collective colleagues, clients, and partners shared insights on the global market forecasts and the future of tourism in the Baltics. The panel discussion was about the extreme temperature rise in Europe and the travelers seeking for vacations to ‘cold’ destinations such as the Baltic countries and if we are ready for it.

The future of tourism also will be impacted by AI technology for product development, data analysis, and customer relationships at the B2C and B2B levels. We all agree that the future of tourism is in the sustainable travel industry but how the new developing technology can foster its development?

The future of the travel industry is also in the hands of the next generations Gen Z and Gen Alpha and how can we make the tourism industry attractive for them?

All of this was wonderfully orchestrated by Andy Fairburn and Paul Wagner, the directors of the Nordic Tourism Collective.

🌿 Recently we had a very wonderful chance to join the Nature Gallery group adventure organized by Nepieradinātās naktsmītnes / Untamed nights. It was something extraordinary - an experience for all senses and a perfect example of what it actually means to "think outside the box". We created our own tea mandala, went for a beautiful hike, baked some campfire bread on a stick, drank "from ground", ate seemingly inedible things (oh, what a creative approach to cooking!), had a fancy lunch right in the woods, enjoyed stories about plants and poetry from trees, created zen gardens from chocolate sand with edible "stones", watched a dance performance in water and simply enjoyed everything what the day brought to us. Not only the experience itself was truly magical, but also the design of every tiniest detail.
