I loved doing a Private Tasting for this couple. 💓💓💓

It happened that they HD purchased the same brand of Raicilla a couple of days before.

But... It felt different. The flavors and aromas were not exactly the same. They had a bottle from the previous batch.

RAICILLA
If you have not tried this Mexican Agave Spirit I would not blame you, chances are you didn't even know it existed. Only two states in Mexico produce it.

But don't wait, If you love Mezcales, and the very best Mexican Agave Spirits then this is A MUST!

RAICILLA is protected by Designation of Origin and must be between 35% and 55% alcohol, although generally they are 48% and above.

It's PRODUCED in ONLY TWO STATES OF MEXICO. 16 municipalities of Jalisco and only one municipality of Nayarit can distill this spirit.

While any Agave can be used, except Tequilana Weber -aka Blue Agave- the most commonly used are Rhodacanta, Angustifolia Haw, Valenciana, Maximiliana Baker, and Inaequidens Koch.

Raicilla can be produced in the Coast and in the Mountains giving way to two varieties. Despite the fact that the method of production is the same for both varieties - Coast and Mountain- they possess different organoleptic characteristics due to the different soil where Agaves grow.
