🍽️🧑‍🍳🐭 Back on this day in 1995, Chef Mickey’s opened at the Contemporary Resort (previously it was at Downtown Disney) and has been a guest favorite ever since- also known as hard to get! And while Mickey gets top billing, you’ll also meet Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto while dining on a buffet of favorite dishes for breakfast and dinner.

When it comes to character buffets, are you more a breakfast or dinner diner? And have you been to Chef Mickey’s yet?

PRO TIP-No matter when you go, be sure to head out the back of the Contemporary Resort for the adorable Mickey Ears photo op!

🎨🔎PRO TIP: Even if you aren’t staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, you need to make some time to visit. When you do, be sure to swing by the DVC desk and ask for their FREE art scavenger hunt. Upon completion, you get an adorable mini print of the resort, and then you can celebrate with a slab of their famous banana bread from Le Petit Cafe, (you are going to want more than one slice for sure.)

🦖🍽️Themed dining is kind of Disney’s thing, and it might be true they do it BEST at their Quick Service locations. For example, at Animal Kingdom’s Restaurantosaurus, did you know you can actually sit inside this Airstream? There are only two booths and a jukebox inside that small area, so you’ll either need some luck or make your own luck by being the first to get there. When you walk in, take a right and look for the Hip Joint sign. Inside that room, the entrance to the Airstream is on the left. By the way, it’s an actual Airstream modified to fit the restaurant!

Don’t worry if you can’t snag this coveted dining area, the entire restaurant is themed around a paleontologist camp, where the puns are plentiful, the food is reliable and there’s so much fun to dig up! Have you eaten here?
