21 Day : Day 12

Woke up with a throbbing headache & half a swollen face & because of the pain my mind didn’t register what the date was. Alas, my body remembered my heart’s pain. It’s hard to find something to be grateful for today (the 16th) because it is one of those days when I feel like God should call me home but then I remember what K would say when I felt like like this “babe, we don’t quit.” And so today I i choose to be grateful for the gift of life, grateful that I am breathing even on days I wish I wasn’t.

Below is a clip of Kelvin during the last Champions for Life mission we did. Here he was facilitating a session on grief 🫤 the irony of it all. It is well my heart, until I see you again Red Ranger, my dragon slayer.

21 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 11

Grateful for the now unexpected moments of happiness. There are days when I find it difficult to even say the word “happy” - saying happy new year and having people say it to me was one of the hardest thing this month because I couldn’t imagine this year being a happy one. However, I am still grateful for the days when happiness stubbornly tugs at my heart and God. Grateful that happiness is a stubborn friend.

Also grateful for sisters & friends that know that chocolate is my happiness accelerator 😊.

21 Day Gratitude challenge: Day 10

Grateful for the lessons grief is teaching me. It has taught me the importance of empathy, being kind to others & self. This uninvited guest, grief, has brought with it honesty, though it hurts it also heals. It’s taught me the importa of being present in the moment and of laughter - laugh at life and with life.

Maybe I should do a podcast lol 😂

21 Days : Day 9

Grateful that God allowed me to see that there are men in my generation who are honest, faithful, loyal and committed to their wives. I am grateful to have had a really good marriage with a man that knew God and feared him, and hence treated me really well. Sometimes what we see in the world makes us believe good men don’t exist but for the 8 years of friendship & eventually marriage I was blessed to have been loved without question by this man who put no one except God above me. To have known a man who was consistent in his character and devotion to me and the family we were building 🙏🏾. I am really in awe of God’s love for me to have allowed me to experience this personally and grateful to have experienced such a wonderful man. I am grateful I don’t have to give lip service about how wonderful Kelvin was because he really was just a wonderful human.

Kelvin was my smile keeper. Even today I smile looking at how my heart is visibly at peace in his arms in the pictures below.

21 Day Gratitude Challenge:

Day 8: Grateful for the widows (and widowers), who have reached out to me & done their best to help make the transition into this club somewhat bearable. While I am truly grateful for the grace & understanding I have received from family & friends, I know it is hard for anyone who has not experienced this type of loss to really grasp the weight & depth of the loss I feel no matter how much they want to. I am filled with gratitude to these women (and men) who have shared their pain and their stories, and allowed me to borrow their strength these past months. Thank you fellow club members for sharing your faith & keeping me connected to God when I didn’t want to, for knowing how hard it would be to just exist & calling/texting just to let me know it’s okay. For praying for me when I couldn’t 😢 Thank you Lord for old & new friends that have become “travel buddies” with me on this path.

Day 6: I am grateful for how God has provided for me financially during this period. When my husband fell sick, my work contract had just ended and I was looking for new job, and at some point during the ordeal our savings ran out but God has kept me somehow. I am really thankful for family and friends that have stretched out their hands to me cause hmmmn panga pakaoma. 🥹

Day 5: Today I am grateful for all the opportunities I have been given in life. The professional doors that have been opened to me without me sweating 😓 and the doors I thought I deserved that have been shut in my face without cause because all of it has worked together for my good. I am grateful for women and men that have taken it upon themselves to advocate for me in places of power and boardrooms, in my absence and without my bidding, and have unlocked otherwise difficult doors for me to walk in. Thank you God for shining your face upon me and the hearts of your people to look at me with favour.

Day 4: Today I am grateful to God for understanding and loving in-laws. Listening to stories of many widows, I realise what a blessing my mother and father in law have been. I am especially grateful for my late husband’s brothers who have become like siblings & the respect they have given me. His extended family that constantly checks on me with love and care. I am grateful for minimum drama from that side of the family throughout this time - I listen to stories from fellow widows on how their in-laws have treated them since their spouses have died and I realise how immensely blessed I am. I don’t take the Mutize’s love for granted. My blessing

Day 3: Grateful for the community of friends that has become a wall of protection and encouragement around me in this season. Thank you God for the gift of genuine friendships. Thank you 🙏🏾for the love they have poured into me in this season, for giving me the grace to mourn without judgement.

21 Day

Day 2: Today has been an extremely emotional day for no reason 😑 & finding something to be grateful for has been hard. Still I am grateful for the 2nd chances that have been given to me in this life, in particular, the grace to return to school 🏫 in this season & pursue a higher education. I am cognisant of the many that wanted the chance but couldn’t get it for one reason on the other. Kelvin Tinashe Mutize was really doing great in this front and to our last conversation, he was still insistent on giving 100% to this part of our journey even on his dying bed. I get to finish that race, hopefully for the both of us 😇

21 Day - The year 2023 was a heavy one for me and I really didn’t have strength to open this page after Kelvin passed but as I begin to contemplate where I go from this loss, I thought it would be great to reflect on what I am grateful for even in the midst of the pain. There are still things to be grateful for, hoping you also join in sharing what you are grateful for stepping into 2024.

Day 1: I am grateful for having mom with me still. I don’t take it for granted that she is still alive and breathing, I am thankful that we have a healthy and loving relationship and that God specifically chose her to be my mother. I learn so much about being a good human being by observing her, how she loves people -even those she knows without a doubt don’t wish her well, how compassionate and empathetic she is, her consistency in showing up for those she loves & how she puts God first in her actions. Rebecah Mtatiwa Marindire is my super blessing from God, I wouldn’t have made it through these past 10 months without you and I am grateful to God everyday for how you show up for me and how you showed up for Kelvin as well.

In this week's vlog, we tried to see how many fashion items, and second-hand clothes we can get with the money we had. Sifting through tonnes of clothes can be exhausting and at the same time, it can be blissful. Shopping for pre-loved clothes is an art.

What are some of the tips you use to but pre-loved fashion?

Check our Haul at the end of what we walked out of the store with and the prices of each item.

Doing a trip on a budget, on the coast and with only two days to do in , and doing a holiday without breaking the bank whilst on holiday in the resort town. This time around we had Dr Haondi as our travel buddy and I guess she had so much fun with us and argument nights. Watch out for Day 2
