Calling all Monroe county sleuths. Last Friday (10/11/24 in the AM, but during daylight hours) a newer style GM truck (lighter gray/silver) with a newer dump trailer dumped their load of garbage off at a property in Ridgeville along Kelton Ave. when they left, they proceeded east where Kelton Ave meets CTY Hwy U. This was a planned dumping and executed in short time. With the amount of dirt in here it seems like it was done with a skidsteer or something of that nature, plus an older kitchen stove, freezer, and wood burning stove - maybe cleaning out a shed? Monroe County Sheriff's Office has elected to not take action without a plate, so this is the next best option. There probably aren’t that many people in the county that have that truck/trailer combination - and would be pretty far to be from out of county? Any information would be appreciated

Edit to add - apparently this truck/trailer has been seen before at the Wildcat Bar in Ontario. Vernon County Sheriff's Office

Elroy Sparta Trail has been closed from Kendall to Elroy until further notice. The trail has sustained significant damage, and the DNR has already contacted the appropriate people to fix it. Unfortunately, there is no estimate on how long the repairs will take.

In the meantime, you can still bike from Sparta to Kendall or vice versa. The La Crosse trail is also open 100%. If you have any questions, please call 608 337 4775

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by Mother Nature, and we appreciate your patience while we wait for the trail to be repaired.

On Sunday a lucky kid will get to ride off on this sweet ride that we donated for the bike rodeo. This is one of many bikes available. Hopefully you can make it down to the Norwalk village hall for the festivities as any funds raised will go towards our public library.
