⭐️NEW GENIE + AND LIGHTNING LANE CHANGES⭐️

On July 24, Walt Disney World will introduce new, simpler names to provide more clarity for everyone.

✨Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
✨ Individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.

Disney will also be updating Lightning Lane passes to help guests:

⭐️Make Lightning Lane plans before you’re here, for added confidence.
⭐️Choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing, so you know what you’re getting.
⭐️Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple vacation days, all in a single day.

Here’s how Lightning Lane passes will work beginning July 24:

🌟LIGHTNING LANE MULTI PASS✨
When guests purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, they may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. They’ll also be able to choose available times as they make their selections. On the day of their visit, once they use a selection, they may check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.

✨LIGHTING LANE SINGLE PASS✨
Lightning Lane Single Pass will work much like it does today, where guests can secure a time to ride one of our most highly demanded attractions, but they’ll now be able to make their purchase and plan in advance.

Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels (Shades of Green Resort, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels) will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.

🥤It’s National Smoothie Day, pals! Smoothies are the universe’s yummy way of thanking us for choosing fruit over ice cream by giving us pretty much the same end result. Joffrey’s cart at Disney Springs has an awesome list of smoothies to help fuel you while you buy up all the wonderful smelling soaps at Basin or all the newest Mickey ears at World of Disney. What is your go-to smoothie concoction?

🥤Just when we thought Joffrey’s was only the king of coffee, they went ahead and brought real fruit smoothies to the line up! (Is there nothing you can’t do, Joffrey?!) You can find a free standing smoothie stand in Disney Springs. These delicious offerings are great for when you just want something light and relatively healthy to offset when you eat your weight in churros later. How likely are you to skip a regular shopping day lunch and just grab a smoothie instead?

🏎️This isn't just any ride; it’s a high-speed race through the iconic Ornament Valley that is so well done you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right inside the Cars movies. Just a couple of pro tips to make your visit even better:

✨Racers need to be at least 40 inches tall
✨Ride first thing in the morning for the shortest wait
✨Purchase Individual Lightning Lane to bypass the standby line

🗓️Today in Disney history we celebrate the dedications of the Disneyland Monorail and Matterhorn Bobsleds, as well as the opening of Alice in Wonderland with some “Did You Know” facts:

🛤️Disneyland Monorail: Is there anything more “Disney” than the monorail?! Pro-tip: you can ONLY ride the monorail if you have a Disneyland park ticket.

🎢Matterhorn Bobsleds: On this thrill ride, you’ll narrowly escape a Yeti encounter. (For Walt Disney World veterans, think Space Mountain with an Expedition Everest vibe). Did ya know there is a hidden basketball court inside the mountain?!

🎩Alice in Wonderland: This classic dark ride is an indoor/outdoor experience that puts you inside the movie. Definitely a must do at Disneyland!

🎠But don‘t let these “oldies but goodies“ fool you. Disneyland, now more than ever, mixes classic Disney vibes with the latest in theme park technology and thrills. I can’t wait to help get you there to see for yourself!

🎢Have some little Harry Potter fans who aren’t quite ready to tackle Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey? Give Flight of the Hippogriff a shot. Located in Islands of Adventure in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hogsmeade, you’ll work your way through Hagrid’s pumpkin patch and even catch a quick glimpse at our old pal, Buckbeak.

🎢A few words of warning: riders must be at least 36 inches to ride, and riders under 48 inches need an adult rider. While adults may feel a little cramped in the ride vehicles, just know that the ride is short and sweet and included with the Express Pass.

🍔If a snack can become the stuff of legends, then the spring rolls over at the Adventureland Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom have achieved legendary status. I can’t think of a snack I’ve seen featured more on Instagram and in Walt Disney World articles than these little guys. Have you tried one? Something about a cheeseburger egg roll can be hard for some to wrap their heads around.

🚢It’s just fitting that if Walt Disney World has Movies Under the Stars at their resorts that Disney Cruise Line will have “dive-in” movies at their amazing main pool, right? 🚢Put those sea legs to work when you reach the beautiful Castaway Cay! You’ll have plenty of time to doze in a hammock and sip spirits, so first hop on a bike and explore this beautiful private island! It’s a great way to explore (see the 5k trail but with the bike breeze in your hair) and do something WAY different than you will do on the rest of your cruise!

🏃🏼‍♀️Disney Cruise Line really does have something for everyone. When you visit Castaway Cay, the world really is your oyster. Want to snorkel? Strap on a mask. Want to nap on the beach? Grab your shades. Ready for a frozen concoction? Cheers. Want to earn a 5k medal? Here’s a high five.

🍗Ready to pig out? Cookie’s BBQ says have seconds! Want to feel the island breeze in your hair? Rent a bike. There’s no way you come away from Castaway Cay saying you were bored. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re living your best island life?

🍔National Burger Day! (Did your stomach just growl?) Running from the raptors in Universal’s Islands of Adventure is a good way to work up an appetite. You’re safe in The Burger Digs (think of it as old school “base” when you’re playing tag) adjacent to the Discovery Center. It has great burgers and other traditional theme park fare, is out of the sun, has plenty of seating, an almost hidden bathroom area and great exhibits downstairs to explore while your lunch settles.

🍔Where is your favorite Universal lunch spot? No fossil digging necessary at The Burger Digs in the Jurassic Park area of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Walk right up and a juicy burger will be prepared for you on the spot. (You can even mobile order to truly be able to walk up and grab your order. Carnivores should never wait until hanger strikes to eat!) This is also such a cool area of the park to enjoy some downtime. There’s carnival style games right across the walkway outside, a cool gift shop for your budding paleontologist (complete with edible bugs), exhibits and great photo spots downstairs in The Discovery Center.
