UPDATE: RIU has updated and upgraded my client's room. She is now comfortable with her space. Riu has provided some concessions and we are continuing to work together to get the client an acceptable resolution. 🎉

I've experienced my 1st NIGHTMARE booking. I booked a client at an adults only all-inclusive 4star Riu property in Punta Cana, with roundtrip delta flights, airport transfers, and 3 excursions. Upon arrival, the Riu reception was not welcoming and did not inform my client she was checked in to a downgraded room. The downgraded room was filthy as if it were not cleaned. I reached out to in-destination support and Riu. Riu has yet to respond to me but thankfully the vendor i used has provided options for resolution. I had to ask the client go back down to reception to inform Riu that she was checked in to the wrong room. Only then did Riu tell her that they overbooked the room category so her room would not be ready until today. To make matters worse, she woke up this morning to black ants crawling in the bed. Riu has since suggested that they will upgrade the room booked for her and I have been working to try to get a refund for the 1st day and other concessions. Unfortunately, at this point she just wants to go home today. I definitely expected a better standard of service from Riu and I am hopeful that Riu will work with me to come to a favorable resolution for her.

Some may say I don't have a beach body buuuuut bay bae, my money paid for that beach vacay and that swimsuit so I beg to differ. Too many women stray away from the beach and/or the swimsuit because society has said we don't have beach bodies. Girl ignore them and fall in love with you. This is your sign to take that vacay! The beach does not have a weight requirement. The ocean is accepting to all. 💙✈️🏖
