First, there's a private Mass for all REGINA Travelers, and then you're off to explore nearby St Andrews. This world famous university town is known for tradition, golf, William & Kate -- and the incredible atmospheric ruins of what was once a great Benedictine cathedral, utterly destroyed by angry Catholics led by a priest, Father John Knox.

A TYPICAL DAY ON A REGINA TRIP
Wake up in a Renaissance palazzo in Florence. After a sumptuous breakfast fit for a prince, drive 20 minutes into the green Tuscan countryside to Gricigliano, home of the Institute seminary.
After Mass in this chapel and a tour of the seminary by its young American rector, we all have lunch together in a nearby village ristorante. The food is simply indescribable and the conversation edifying, to say the least.
After this long pranzo, we drive back to Florence and stroll over to its Basilica -- and climb 320 steps to the top of its world famous bell tower. There, photos are taken, kisses are exchanged and the sun sets over the stunning view of Florence and the Arno.
That's when night begins.

A TYPICAL DAY ON A REGINA TRIP
Wake up in a monastery. Go to Mass with the monks. Drive 90 minutes into the Scottish Highlands. Abandon your bus when the road gets too rough for it. Strike out along a meandering track that skirts a meadow filled with sheep. Cross a babbling brook, and enter an ancient farmhouse that once was Scotland's only seminary.
While Presbyterians and Anglicans held court in the grand buildings that the Catholic Church had erected centuries before, our seminarians and priests were hunted. The Mass was illegal, and so this remote farmhouse became the hidden seminary where Scotland's priests were educated secretly.
After exploring the abandoned house and its green lawns, we trekked back to our bus and headed for lunch. At Glenlivet Distillery.
Yes. THAT Glenlivet Distillery. It's a few miles down the road from Scalan Seminary -- and a universe away.

Q. WHAT KINDS OF RELIGIOUS PLACES DOES REGINA TRIPS VISIT?
A. All kinds. Here's a seminary we visit while we are in Tuscany, for example. We attend mass in this chapel and afterwards have lunch with the seminarians and teachers. (This happens to be the ONLY full seminary in Italy, by the way. Most others are empty of students. This seminary ordained 8 new priests last weekend -- 4 from the USA and 1 from Canada. The language of instruction is French.)

REGINA WEDDING
High Latin Mass. Groom traveled with REGINA 6 times. Bride traveled with REGINA 3 times.
