After my recent family vacation, I can say with confidence that Disneyland has won me over. 🥰 I love this special place where Walt himself stood as he watched his vision come to fruition; a place where memories can be made as families enjoy attractions together–adults and children alike.

Do I love it more than Walt Disney World? I can’t answer that. I won’t answer that. It’s really not even a fair question… 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s like asking a parent which child they love more. I love them both equally. I love them for the unique experiences they each provide. I love them just the way they are. I love them differently because they are very different! To compare them in that way would downplay all the good found at each destination.

Walt had a different vision for Disneyland than he had for Disney World, which his brother Roy would oversee and change the name to “Walt Disney” World in memory of his brother. Walt didn’t want them to be carbon copies, so they aren’t, they never will be, and we shouldn’t ever expect them to be. Both destinations are equally wonderful and magical in their own right.

What I WILL say is this… There’s something special in the air when you step into Walt’s original park that you don’t feel at Walt Disney World. It’s classic. It’s timeless. It’s magical. In a lot of ways, it’s simple. It’s Walt.

As a Walt Disney World girl by EVERY stretch of the definition, this may come across as a bold statement… BUT I truly think you can never FULLY appreciate Walt Disney World until you’ve spent some time at Disneyland where it all began. After all, without Disneyland there would be no Walt Disney World. 😉
