✈️ 🍁 Air Canada has announced some changes to Seating Assignments at Check-In that are important for you to know.

Effective yesterday, April 24, for clients that book BASIC or STANDARD fares and do not pre book and pay for seats - when doing online check-in 24 hours prior to departure Air Canada will now be assigning those seats.

If clients do not like the seats assigned by Air Canada they will be charged at check-in time if they want to change them.

What does this mean for you?

Up until now you may have become used to choosing your seat for free when you do online check-in 24 hours prior to your departure. Going forward, you will not be able to choose for free – your seat will be automatically assigned, and if you wish to change it at that time you will be charged a fee.

Fees may vary depending on the seat you choose.

As in the past, certain fare categories already include seat selection in the price. This change applies only to Basic and Standard fares.

Today I found out that I was selected for an upcoming immersive destination experience in Portugal!!! One of the hotels I will be staying at is the Convento Espinheiro Hotel. This beautifully restored 15th-century convent stands just outside the Unesco World Heritage city of Evora.

I can't wait to see all the things Portugal has to offer!

And so today, on National Beach Day – we celebrate the excitement and beauty that beaches offer while also promoting the importance of keeping them healthy and clean for future generations.

The greater purpose behind the day is for everyone to do their part to clean up some not-so-tidy parts of the beach.

If you can’t get to a beach clean up, you can still be part of celebrating National Beach Day making a donation to a charity that supports keeping oceans and other waterways clean.

Consider one of these charities for making a donation:

Surfrider Foundation. () This organization believes the beach belongs to everyone, so they fight for ocean protection, plastic reduction, beach access, clean water and coastal preservation.

Oceana. ()
The largest organization in the world that is devoted only to the conservation of marine life. It works to end sources of pollution like oil and shipping emissions, as well as creating campaigns to protect vulnerable ocean places.

The Nature Conservancy. ()
Since 1951, this group has been protecting natural places, including beaches and waters.
