rs to enjoy the relaxing yet exhilarating sport of salmon fishing for themselves under the guidance of an expert full-time ghillie. The beat covers almost 1½ miles of double-bank and mid-stream fishing in a spectacular gorge, and the river runs with wild brown trout, salmon, sea trout and grilse. The Ericht is an extremely important river within the Tay system and enjoys prolific runs of salmon from May to mid October, though July onwards is likely to yield the best rewards.

Managing Tigh Mor – and more… ✨

Six years on from starting his role at HPB Tigh Mor Trossachs, Site Manager Simon (pictured left, below) is still in love with our Scottish home – “I have to pinch myself sometimes just to make sure this isn’t all a dream,” he says – but as of July last year he’s added a second string to his bow, becoming Property Manager responsible for operations at the HPB Coo Palace, HPB Lucker Hall, HPB Braithwaite (and the HPB Ivy House Hotel) and HPB Witch's Pool.

“Being a Property Manager isn’t being a boss,” Simon avers. “It’s more about working with the individual Site Managers, being able to provide an overview when they’re embroiled in the day-to-day – zooming out if you like – providing support where necessary, and acting as a conduit between them and Head Office.

“It’s testing sometimes, but interesting,” he says. “Other sites face different challenges from those I get ‘at home’, but those experiences – some of them anyway – feed into my own site management at HPB Tigh Mor Trossachs. And I really enjoy working with the other Site Managers. “We’re a team.”
