Satellite Communications = SATCOM

First launched by Motorola in 1989, the devices were bulky, expensive, and primarily used by government agencies, military personnel, and organizations operating in remote areas

NOW, tech advancements allow smartphones to integrate with satellite communications. People can use email, internet, tracking features and more on sat phones & devices

You may not have cell phone reception, but you can have a satellite connection! SATCOM devices send signals to satellites in orbit and they get relayed to phones or devices on the ground.

In emergencies such as accidents, getting lost, natural disasters, or medical or security events, a SATCOM device can be a lifesaver by enabling communication with rescue services - we have a few examples listed in our recent blog https://bit.ly/4gVeYmj

📱Emergency Services Numbers👉Each country has its own emergency number. For example, 911 (US/Canada), 999 (UK), 112 (EU), and 119 (Japan for fire/ambulance). Always check the local number! 🚨

📱Police & Fire Dept👉Know the direct contact numbers for the police and fire department in case of emergencies.

📱Hospital Info👉Have the nearest hospital’s number & address ready in case of medical issues.
