This man ‘rents’ palm trees from the people around the island and every morning and every evening he taps the sprouting palm fronds, it fills the clay pots he has hanging in the tree and he empties it into a jug. You can drink it fresh or let it ferment overnight for an alcoholic treat…

Day eleven. A walk in the backwaters. We stay on an island in the backwaters of Kerala. To this day, there are no roads and no cars on the island. It’s a beautiful way to see the slow life. I know life for the inhabitants isn’t easy and I appreciate the opportunity to see a different way of life.

Day eight. Full of blessings. Balan finished making the beautiful elis pendants (for protection & fearlessness) and blessed them in a ceremony at his home temple. And then… after 3 days in Thottada, we said goodbye. It’s always hard for me.

Day Five. Oh India! We stopped by a tiny country school in Coorg and surprised the children with gifts. They are surrounded by beauty. Such sweet, kind and such honest kiddos. A great experience for all!

OH INDIA!
It’s not everyday you run in to the mystical mysteries of millennia. Mythical stories re-enacted and processioned down the road. These photos are old (2013), but it’s the same. Oh India! It’s heart opening and like no other place on earth.

Our tours are small 6 guests. This gives us flexibility and opportunity to take in all the wonders that appear.

We still have room for our January journey to the south of India. It’s like nothing you’ve experienced, join us.
