DAY TRIP: MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA

Essaouira is 170 Km from Marrakech along the Atlantic Coast of Morocco. Founded by the Phoenicians, it was one of the ports of the Roman Empire. During the 17th century, the city became a Portuguese colony.
A visit to Essaouira, Mogador according to the old name, starts at the port, dedicated mostly to fishing. Essaouira had been classified as a heritage of humanity by the UNESCO. The medina is surrounded by huge walls that protect it from the wind and which were built by the Portuguese during the colonization of Essaouira.
Essaouira is known for its typical handicrafts. The beach is gorgeous and stretches as far as the eye can see. You can also visit a cooperative run by women, where the famous Argan Oil is produced. At sunset, you will return to your hotel in Marrakech.

Trip day to waterfalls ouzoud from Marrakech

From Marrakesh, you can head out for a one day trip to one of the most amazing sights of Morocco, the waterfalls of Ouzoud. 150 km north-east of Marrakech, the falls are near the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the full High Atlas.

You start in the morning from your hotel and proceed to the highest waterfalls in Morocco, the water falls from a height of 110 meters, offering an amazing view. You can make an excellent walk to the base of the falls, so comfortable shoes are recommended for hiking.

For lunch, there are many small cafes that overlook the splendid panorama. In the summer months, the area is a heaven to escape from the heat of the city, you can refresh yourself in the crystal clear waters

DAY TRIP: MARRAKECH – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU
The Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is a perfectly preserved kasbah and included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is about a 4-hour drive from Marrakech. The tour starts from your hotel, over the Tizi-n’Tichka pass at 2260 m, and you will reach one of the most spectacular ksours (fortified village).

The Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou is situated on the trans-Saharan caravan route. It is really wonderful the walk up to the hill overlooking the village, with 360-degree views of the valley. Drive another 22 km and you will reach the city of Ouarzazate.

We will break for lunch at a local restaurant with fantastic views of the old Kasbah of Taourirt, the palace where the last pacha of Marrakech lived. We will come back to Marrakech at sunset
