Morocco is famous for its vivid blues, from the main house at Majorelle Gardens to the city of Chefchaouen. wanted to explore this intense colour which appears throughout Moroccan craft.

The gardens were originally designed by French artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and 1930s when he created his own shade of blue and commissioned an architect to design the villa for him. Majorelle would then spend numerous years here continuing to create his art while caring for the lush gardens until his death. It wasn't until 1966, after his death, that Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé discovered the gardens after their first stay in Marrakech.

What is a Medina?

Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Essaouira, Fez, Marrakech, and many more Moroccan cities have one thing in common and its their medina. If you travel to any city in Morocco, you must absolutely check where the Medina is and plan a couple hours at least to visit it.

So what is a Medina? The medina in any Moroccan city refers to the ancient part of a city. In other words, it refers to where the city started, a few hundred years ago – if not thousands of years ago.

Almost most Medinas in Morocco have ramparts that were originally built to protect the city from invaders.

The medina of Marrakech is one of the largest medinas in Morocco. You will find there all Moroccan artisans make from every part of Morocco. Some of the most famous Medinas in Morocco include the Medina of Marrakech , the Medina of Tangier, the Medina of Fez, the Medina of Tangier and the Medina of Chefchaouen. But as mentioned above, almost every city in Morocco has a respectable and lively Medina full of artisans creations.

This busy and noisy boulevard at the heart of Marrakech’s old town is home to the country’s oldest and most famous carpenter and blacksmith workshops. Visitors know when they’ve reached the right souk by the clanging metal noises and the cedar wood scent wafting in the warm air. Pottery and wooden craft stalls are the highlights of this souk, displaying a wide variety of delicate plates, vases, bowls, trays, and hand-painted ceramics. The narrow alleys of the souk are covered in stalls selling vibrant carpets and textiles, making exploring it an unmissable activity to do in .

Jemaa el-Fnaa, where snake charmers hypnotizing snakes

As one of the famous squares in Africa, Jemaa el-Fnaa is the world's famous square, the UNESCO World heritage since 1985. Generally, the name of Jemaa el Fnaa means an assembly of trespassers.

Historically, the square was used by leaders to frighten the public to remain to rule. In the present world, this square is one of the best locations for tourists. Here, you will come across magicians, herb sellers, dentists, Pickpockets, and not forgetting the well know snake charmers.
