Rajab - The Month of Allah.

Alhamdullilah we have entered Rajab, the Sacred month of Allah.

We make the Dua for this month:

اللهم بارك لنا في رجب وشعبان وبالغنا رمضان

Oh Allah bless us in Rajab and Shabān and allow us to reach Ramadān 🤲

May Allah grant relief to our brother and sisters who are suffering around the world. Especially in the blessed lands of Filistine & Yemen.

We plant the seeds in this month, water them in Shabān and collect the fruits in Ramadān.

The Shurafah continue to worship Allah in the great village of Moulay Abd as-Salām ibn Mashīsh with great intentions to reach Ramadān and recite even more Qur'an.

The Awliyah - (Protected Friends of Allah) do not hate people, nor do they harbour ill will toward them; indeed, they do not see them at all. When a lover beholds his beloved, if the whole world & its delights were to be paraded before them, their gaze would not fall upon it even for the blinking of an eye. Such is it with those who love Allah.

Morocco is known as the "Land of the Awliyah" and the Patron Saint (Qutb) of the Awliyah was Moulay Abd as-Salām ibn Mashīsh at the time.

Who can become a Wali (Protected friend of Allah)? The answer is: anyone. Many are hidden, you may not even know a person is a Wali. Anyone who claims to be a wali himself, often is not, as the Wali is not one who declares this to the world.

Just by receiving a gaze from a Wali, one's life can change. As people often speak about the "evil eye", there is also the "good eye" from blessed individuals.

May Allah allow us to become of the Awliyah and to receive their gaze 🤲

When you see this sign, then know that you are near.

The road leading to Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu).

Cars are able to drive fairly close, but there is still a requirement to walk a certain distance in order to reach the blessed shrine. The main path is good with the possibility of wheelchair & pushchair users utilising it.

The road to the village has recently been renovated Alhamdullilah which has made it much easier to drive up, allowing trucks and buses to pass without difficulty. In order to reach the village from Tetouan, a local bus departs every morning once a day (times may vary) or a taxi can be taken. The journey from Tetouan is approximately 1.5 hours, as it is from Tangier. From Chefchaouen the journey is around 2.5 hours in a car. From Fes the journey takes roughly 5 hours.

We often arrange for individuals to be collected via a private driver from Tangier/Tetouan, to visit the Maqaam.

It is said that this cave is where Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) sat in Khalwa when he came to visit Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu).

The Cave is located in very close proximity to the resting place of Ibn Mashish, in fact it is right next to the Maqaam of the Grandson of Ibn Mashish; Sidi Omar Al Ouahabi (known as Sayyidi Ammaar locally). Many people like to spend time in isolation here and sometimes spend the night.

When ibn Mashish was born, Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani heard a voice saying "Lift your foot from the People of the West - The Maghrib (since his foot rests on the neck of all the Awliyah), as the Qutb for this time has just been born". Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani then travelled from Baghdad Sharif to Morocco - Jabal Alam specifically, by taking a few steps (as certain Awliyah are able to travel wherever they desire by taking just a few steps similar to time travel or going through a portal).

Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani met with Sayyidi Sulayman Al Mashish (the Father of Moulay Abd as-Salaam) and asked to see his son but it wasn't the son he wanted to see. He brought all of his sons except one, as that child had just been born. Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani asked to see that specific son. He brought him out and Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani placed his hand on his head and made Dua for him. And Allah knows best.

The Well/Spring of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu).

This is the well where the great Imam, the disciple of Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) performed Wudhu 3 times before being able to receive knowledge from the great Qutb.

The well is located at the bottom of the Mountain, on the opposite route to Tetouan. Closer to the village where ibn Mashish was born. There are steps leading up from the well which is the path that Imam Shadhili took in order to reach the top of the Mountain. The same path can be taken today & many visitors undergo this same journey to replicate the great Imam's footsteps. He traversed this path up & down 3 times due to what Ibn Mashish had said to him.

Ibn Mashish had instructed Imam Shadhili to purify himself. Despite Imam Shadhili purifying himself through the act of performing ablution, it was only after the 3rd and final Wudhu that the imam realised what his teacher was teaching him. He needed to purify himself from all the knowledge he had taken previously. To empty himself completely in order to receive. A full container cannot be filled anymore therefore once Imam Shadhili came to this realisation, he was able to receive from the great Qutb and became his only student. Thereafter he went on to become the great leader of the Shadhili Tariqa.

May Allah be pleased with them both and shower His mercy upon them. May Allah sanctify their secrets and allow us to take barakah from them. Ameen.

The Maqaam (shrine or resting place) of the great Qutb (Spiritual Pole) of Morocco. Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish al-ʻAlami (عبد السلام بن مشيش العلمي‎), Qaddas Allah Sirrhu (May Allah sanctify his secret).

Ibn Mashish was the disciple of Shaykh Abu Madyan al-Ghawth (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu). He was the Spiritual guide of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu), his only disciple. He was regarded as the Qutb of his time.

Ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) was from the Ahlul bayt, through our Master Sayyiduna Hassan RadiAllah anhu. As with many of the great Sufi masters, he studied the Qur'an & Maliki jurisprudence (Fiqh), becoming a scholar in his own right. This was done in his travels at 16 years old. He then spent a period fighting with the Almohad army in al-Andalus, before finally devoting the last 20 years of his life to spiritual contemplation & retreat on Jabal Alam where eventually he was martyred.

The great Qutb of Morocco; Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) rests at the top of this Mountain. This great mountain - Jabal Alam. Great due to the one who rests on it. The Spiritual Pole of the West.

Are you ready?

There are many paths to the Qutb of Morocco; Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) and this is just one of them.

This Shrine can be reached from a 360° angle, it is open all around and one can take a different path each time to reach the shrine.

Around the shrine are many graves of pious people, Awliyah that have also traversed these paths.

Similar to how there are many paths within the Sufi way, one can take any path that suits them best and reach the ultimate goal; Allah all Mighty.

Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّۚ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

Indeed, Allāh confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allāh to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allāh to grant him] peace.

The Shimmering Light Mawlid is written by Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafidh (May Allah protect him) & is recited all around the world in honour of the Prophet ﷺ. Jabal Alam is no exception, it has been recited in front of the resting place of Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) too. It is often recited on a Thursday night but can be recited at any time.

On the day of Jummah we strive to increase our salaam & salawat upon the Best of Creation ﷺ. For every 1 Salawat/Durood sent, we are blessed with 10 rewards. The one who sends the most Salawat upon HabibAllah ﷺ will be closest to him on the day of Judgement.

Masjid Malaikah.

"The Mosque of Angels".

Here, Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) used to teach, worship & sit in khalwa. Angels would gather and fill the sky to partake.

No doubt a Masjid worth visiting and praying in. A very blessed place indeed. You can gaze upon the magnificent star lit sky with the moon shining bright whilst pondering over the beauty of Allah's creation.

This book is an essential for any lover of poetry that praises RasoolAllah ﷺ. It can be bought on Amazon right now (we have no affiliation with sales or anything, we simply want to share such an amazing piece of work). May Allah reward Umm Khair for her efforts in compiling this. She worked on it for 6 years!

One day, Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) said to his student; Shaykh Abul Hassan Ash-Shadhilli (RahimAllah):

"Beware of people! Purify your tongue from mentioning them, and your heart from acting to please them! Guard your extremities and perform your obligations, and you will attain the Wilaya of Allah. Never mention them, except when the right of Allah upon you demands it, and your piety will be complete. Say: O Allah, preserve me from mentioning them, and from the obstacles they present, and save me from the evil of them, and suffice me with Your goodness over theirs, and distinguish me from among them, indeed You are capable of all things!”

This great Wali rests at the top of Jabal Alam in Northern Morocco.

Come with us to visit the Maqām of the great Qutb Moulay Abdus Salām ibn Mashīsh (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) at Fajr time during Ramadhān. Here we take the route of the steps through the resting places of the Awliyah. There is also an easier route which is a slope that allows for people who struggle with steps to take instead. The fallen tree happened recently due to the storms that took place but showed how we should lower our heads in humility and respect for the great Qutb as the branch reaches across the path completely. We do not approach the Maqām directly, rather we prefer to approach slowly from afar and gradually make our way forward. Many people go straight to the Maqām as soon as they see it and that is no problem. Sidi Ahmed Teribak (RahīmAllah). The son of Moulay Abd as-Salām ibn Mashīsh (Qaddas Allah Sirrhū). He passed away during his Father's lifetime, a man with children. He was buried near his Father's residence in a place called Adiyaz Al-Fawqani. There was a village in it that had fallen into ruin long ago and only ruins remain now. This village was located at a distance of 2 miles from the shrine of the Qutb and from there he used to go up to worship in his mosque known as Qanat Al-Jabal, which is today known as the Mosque of Angels. Near it, a mosque was built for those who wanted to worship and sit khalwa (in isolation). Masjid Al Malaikah. The Mosque of Angels. The Mosque of the Angels is named so due to the number of birds that would appear and fill the sky when Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish (Qaddas Allah Sirrhu) would teach there. These birds were actually Angels, coming to listen & attain knowledge. Additionally, it is said that the birds would come to provide shade when the sun was intense whilst ibn Mashish was teaching/praying in this blessed Masjid. And Allah knows best. This Masjid carries immense beauty despite it's age and appearance. The peace, tranquility and stillness can be felt whilst sat inside. The outside world just disappears, the sky is so close & the surroundings are immense. Only a part of the Masjid is covered, most of it is open air. The Masjid is situated at the highest point of the Mountain next to a water tank that is now present there. A newly laid path has made it much easier for people to walk up to this blessed Masjid and benefit from it's barakah. The Maqaam (Shrine) of Moulay Abd as-Salaam ibn Mashish is in close proximity, it is approximately 400 metres away and along the same route.
